A week after Lily Collins was forced to bow out of Evil Dead, Variety has confirmed that Sam Raimi's Ghost House Pictures has found its new sole lead star. Red Riding Hood's Shiloh Fernandez is the sole thespian to be confirmed for the remake which director Fede Alvarez will begin shooting in New Zealand shortly. Rodo Sayagues penned the screenplay while Diablo Cody also came on board for some rewrites. The original's producers Rob Tapert, Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi are overseeing development while their Ghost House Pictures partners Joe Drake and Nathan Kahane are in as executive producers.
Plot Concept: In the remake, five friends hole up at a remote cabin where they discover a Book of the Dead. A demonic force is unleashed possessing each until only one is left to fight for survival. Lily Collins will play Mia, one of the friends who comes to the cabin in an effort to detox.
Evil Dead will haunt theaters April 12, 2013

We don't want a reboot. we don't need a REINVISIONED EVIL DEAD. we the aforementioned die hard cultist fans want more BRUCE. Please sombody at mania get this message to Sam & Rob & Bruce. berfore they desecrate all that is EVIL DEAD. I liked MY NAME IS BRUCE btw.
So are they going with a full re-imaging with a new Ash? Or is this dude going to be named "Mia". Supposedly he was one of the first actors considered for Edward in the Twilight movies. Red Riding Hood was forgetable, but he was one of the better actors in it.
I actually enjoyed Red Riding Hood much better than the Twilight films, IMO better by a mile.
Anyway I've never been as big a fan of the Evil Dead films as most here. I did love Army of Darkness though and the first 2 did scare me some but I've never thought of them as untouchable. I'm sort of looking forward to seeing the new incarnation. I'll probably enjoy it since I don't have that fanboyish affection for the franchise originals
Grrrrr....damn it Raimi...I don't want a revisioning of the story (which is just using the title really)...the FANS want Bruce to come back with his boomstick and kick some deadite butt. Seriously, if he will make movies like My Name is Bruce, he will do anything for a buck. Why on earth would you take a geek/cult fave and not have the man himself involved?
