With America's second favorite Great Dane, Marmaduke (The Ugly Dachshund being #1) being released last week. We figured that it is only a matter of time before Hollywood searches the Comic Section in newspapers (if they still exist) for the next strip movie. Well, we jumped them and came up with our own Comic Strip Movies. We've taken care of writing treatments and casting the films... we've even gone ahead and printed up some posters too. Now we're just waiting for the money to start rolling in.
Logline: A New York suburban couple's marriage goes dangerously awry when the wife indulges in an adulterous fling.
Logline: A hard-nosed Christian teams up with a wise-cracking zoo Tiger and have 48 hours to find who killed the Tiger's trainer.
Logline: Two Supreme Court Justices have been assassinated. One lone Penguin has stumbled upon the truth. Milo Bloom wants his story. Everybody else wants him dead.
Logline: The story of a Viking who fights against English invaders and becomes the legendary hero known as Haggar the Horrible.
Logline: Mary Worth takes a look at life in all its stages in her own uniquely adult way.
Logline: Broom Hilda is cursed: the men she falls in love with are doomed to an untimely death. Broom must use all of her powers to fight the family curse and a swarm of supernatural forces that threatens her life.
Logline: A murder mystery about Billy, searching for the "Not Me" serial killer leading him through a maze in his old neighborhood.
Logline: A humble, naïve slob and eternal patsy caveman, Thor, travels through time takes on an evil corporation who stole his idea for the wheel.
Logline: Andy Capp, an alcoholic gambler who lost everything because of his drinking, arrives in London to drink himself to death. There, he meets and forms an uneasy friendship with a housekeeper named Flo.
Logline: Nothing is scarier than a single, desperate woman with an itching to kill the men who she had bad dates with.

I'll watch anything with Anne Hathaway. I think a Hagar film would be awesome. Not the one above though ;) By the way. Am I the only one thats getting sick of hearing about Betty f'ing White?
These were pretty funny. Yeah they did do black and white Blondie movies. They were actually pretty funny. I think you probably actually could make a "Blondie" movie that could translate in today's society. I don't think they should... I just think they could.
This reminds me of an SNL skit where they had real life comic strip characters in the past five years. Andy Sanberg played Cathy WAY to well. The skit wasn't that funny, but certain parts like Sanberg's were. I also seem to remember two of the women playing Peppermint Patty and Marcy. Now that I'm thinking about it, the premise of the skit was the comic strip characters worried about losing their jobs because of the decline in readers.
Yeah Rheul I'd watch literally anything with Anne Hathaway. I would watch a movie of her watching paint dry. Hell I sat through GET SMART. ( I had hopes for that movie )
PS I noticed Tara Perry got a credit in the Broom Hilda picture. So that is just double the eye candy!!!

Just out of curiosity, were you aware that there was a series of films based on Blondie and a radio program, and that both ran from the late '30's until 1950?
Actually, the backstory of Blondie sounds like a premise for a movie: for the first few years of the strip, Blondie was a single flapper girl. Then, in 1933, she married Dagwood, who came from a wealthy family that disinherited him for marrying Blondie. Comedy or dramatic gold there.
