What about Action Comics # 1 which introduces the world to Superman... I would think that would be the obvious choice for the number one spot. Where's you head at man?

I have to say I always thought Moore's "Whatever happened to the Man of Tomorrow" is vastly overrated. Good list though
I'm surprised no one else mentioned Dark Knight Returns. While it is technically a Batman story, Superman played a prominent part, and was a far more interesting character than he had been for years in his own stories.
FFt5305-I aree with you about Dark Knight, but what did you think about Superman's role in Dark Knight Strike's Again?
I thought the whole concept behind Death of Superman was that his comic book sales took a dive and DC decided to kill superman which would then increase the sales. Good gimmic! Lots of nerds (including myself) flocked the bookstores in search of that issue!
I'm surprised no one mentioned The Nail. It is the best (non-) Superman story out there. It is an alternate history where a nail blows out one of the tires on the Kents' truck and they never find Kal-El. It is a world without Superman. The end, with its horrific twist, was one I'll probably never forget.
Death of Superman and Superman/Batman: Supergirl are far from being in the top 10 Superman stories. Maybe not even in the top 50.
This is a pretty solid list but yes, ChadDerdowski, "Birthright" is missing i would swap that out for "Superman vs. Muhammad Ali". Also, I agree with wessmith All Star was overrated good "classic" silver age style story but should be much lower on the list. Another old Silver Age fun book was the race between superman and flash but if memory servers that might have been a one issue special.
