Great list!.Although I would found a spot for the Terminator Future War.By the The Forever War was written by Joe Haldeman. Also notable would have been Harlan Ellisons' Man-Kyben War which has been in print and on TV.The Outer Limits (Original) Episode "Demon With A Glass Hand"being the chief example. There is a long-standing rumor that when J. Michael Straczynski was shopping B5 around for an interested studio to pick it up,Paramount was one of the places he took it.When they took the pitch, they said they weren't interested.Shortly after DS9 appeared, with a very rushed-into-production look in it's first year.Supposedly.

Good list, and the appearance of Turtledove's Worldwar was a pleasant surprise.  I came across the series by accident years ago, and was instantly hooked.  The best part was the aliens, who were actually portrayed as being totally different from humans in most every way.  Most stories feature aliens who look different, but act and react to the world just like we do.

How about The War of the Roses?  Nyuck, nyuck.  Anybody remember that 80s flick?

Th Uplift conflicts / war in David Brin's series are really well thought out too.  And a few of them are Hugo / Nebula winners to boot!

It's a disgrace IMO that the Rann vs Thanagar war is not included here nor mentioned

Hell yeah, Turtledove!  I really enjoyed Worldwar/Colonization and his alternate history books like The Great War trilogy and Guns of the South, so I'm real pleased to see he made the list.  Gotta admit, Unification War would be a good choice also since you see how it held dire consequences for a lot of people's lives afterwards in Firefly/Serenity (River, Mal, the Reavers).

What about the pre-Matrix War?  Not the God-awful Matrix Revolutions, but the war that took place in the 21st century against the machines in the Animatrix?  Or would that probably fall under the "World War III" category?

You have a nice List and was glad that The Domminion War & World War Z made the list but I really think you should have had The War agianst Voldemort from the last half of the Harry Potter books as just about every character that was killed was a person you got to know and many were not warriors.

Speaking of Doctor Who, what about the Rutan-Sontaran War that has been going on for thousands of years with no end in sight?
