The hours are ticking down and you’re probably scrambling for those last minute gifts. We here at Mania have a few last minute suggestions for you. Now we know this is the Toy Maniac Column for the week, but not all our “Last Minute Geek Gift Ideas” are going to fall into the toy category. Forgive us; it is the season after all. All of these can be ordered from the Internet. Many are found at Toys R Us or the local Mall. Now get going!
Savage Opress Action Figure

The toy hunters out there might know this already, but there are two Savage Opress figures. The first figure is without armor and seems to be almost everywhere (on the left). The chase figure of this lot is the “armored” version, which also comes with the double bladed light saber (on the right). Any Star Wars Geek would love one of these. Check the toy aisle for the shirtless version, Amazon for the other.
Ninja Turtle Shell Back Pack

This one is probably for the lady Geek in your life but would go great for just about any Geek excursion. It is also a perfect gift for the kid in your family as it comes with all the TMNT masks. Get it here on Amazon.
Hallmark’s Cylon Christmas Ornament

There are tons of these littering the Hallmark stores at your local mall. You’ll probably find a bundle of them the day after Christmas because the normal person (non Geek and non Mania reader) won’t know what a Cylon is.
The Scrooged Limited Edition Soundtrack

LALA Land Records released two great soundtracks this month, which are perfect for the holidays. The first is obviously Danny Elfman’s Scrooged. For the first time ever, Elfman’s complete score has been collected (order here). This is a great Geek Gift for the movie music lover. The other soundtrack was the complete Die Hard score by the late great Michael Kamen. Sadly the Die Hard soundtrack is already sold out. However, if you need some great genre music, pick up Elfman’s complete Mars Attacks score, also from LALA Land Records (here).
A Voice Changing Helmet

Whether it be the General Grievous Helmet, Boba Fett, or perhaps even Captain Rex, just about all Geeks love these things. They are perfect for Facebook stupidity and running around like a kid on Christmas Day. Your Geek wants one, needs one, and probably has one you don’t already know about. Tread lightly on your purchase. The General Grievous is the latest and our pick for the season. However, Boba is Boba and you can never go wrong with Boba.
Book-Book for the iPhone

This one will make all the heads turn and undoubtedly be the must have Geek item after the holidays. Why? Because this holiday season you are going to see people having one of these and you’ll have to have one. It adds a touch of class to your iPhone or iPod and gives it a bit of our world charm too. Check them out on TwelveSouth.
Hammer Vault Book

Your Geek doesn’t have this book sitting at home. Well, not yet. It arrives on December 20th from Titan Books. What Geek doesn’t love Hammer Films? Here is an incredible book with tons of paraphernalia that will keep him/her entertained for hours. Order it on Amazon or take your chances at the local Barnes & Noble.
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World Stuff

So what if the movie is already approaching its second birthday? Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is a fun movie and a Geek pleasure to not only watch but also listen to. Give your Geek or potential Geek either the movie on Blu-ray or one of the two soundtracks.
Jaws: Memories from Martha's Vineyard

Any and all Geeks love Jaws. The Blu-ray should arrive soon, but as yet there is no set release date. To hold him/her over until then, why not give your Geek this incredible photo book. Spielberg himself called it “An astonishing behind-the-scenes anthology of pictures, recollections, and anecdotes.” and he was there.Again, check Barnes & Noble for this book or order it on Amazon. This book is also available at Urban Outfitters.
Santa Yoda Bobble Head

By far the cheapest gift on our list and the easiest to pick up is a Santa Yoda Bobble Head. Check the impulse Christmas toy aisle at your local Target. You and your Geek will light up with smiles every time you see him.
