Sweetums makes our Toy Maniac’s list

The Muppets have been a part of our collective culture for decades. Hopefully with their return to the theaters next week, we will have a plethora on new Muppet adventures. Whether they are on the small screen or the big, let’s hope the Muppets become that pop culture force they once were. There have been numerous incarnation of the Muppets in toy form. From action figures to plush dolls, the Muppets’ toys have kept the magic alive. Here are the Toy Maniac’s “10 Must Have Muppet Toys”.
10. Crazy Harry
We saw Crazy Harry often on the old Muppet Show. You’ll remember him as the one who blew things up. He probably wouldn’t fly with parents (or the censors) today but thankfully they have no control over the old TV episodes on DVD.
9. Lord Chamberlin
Yes, Lord Chamberlin from The Dark Crystal (1982) is a Muppet, too. The Skesis outcast has a dark distinction as being the only one of his kind made into an action figure. NECA toys nailed this likeness.
8. Hoggle
All right so Hoggle comes with Jareth the Goblin King played by David Bowie who technically wasn’t a Muppet. It is the Hoggle figure that makes our list and rightfully so.
7. Adventure Kermit
There have been tons of cross over figures since Adventure Kermit. The Star Wars cross over figures may be better when it comes to the sculpt, but Adventure Kermit was the first. If Adventure has a name it must be… Lilly pad Frog (?).
6. Sweetums
Standing at a full 12 inches high this internet exclusive is the perfect rendition of Sweetums. Sweetums could have been one of the most terrifying Muppets ever but his character revealed he was a sweet guy deep down.
5. Muppet Labs with Beaker
No top 10 Muppet list would be complete with out a Beaker. So what could be better than getting an exclusive Beaker with Muppet Labs? With all these accessories, Beaker is bound to get into trouble.
4. Plush Kermit the Frog
For many of us, a plush hand puppet of Kermit the Frog is where our love for the Muppets began. This is the Muppet that all children should and do have.
3. Muppet Animal Puppet
Master Replicas produced this limited edition Muppet of Animal. He was fully poseable and weighed a total of 16 pounds. Prepare to clean out your wallet on this guy as he goes for as much as $400 online.
2. Make a Muppet at FAO Schwarz
If you have the opportunity to visit FAO Schwarz in New York City, visit the Make a Muppet station. Here is the ultimate chance to make an actual Muppet of yourself or for a loved one. It is completely customizable as you pick everything from the skin tone to that last bit of clothing.
1. Jim Henson
In 2004, Palisades Direct paid the ultimate homage to the Muppet creator by creating a figure of the man himself. This is easily the most sought after figure in the Palisades line and a must have for collectors and fans of Jim Henson, a man who still gives magic to the world.

nice list. muppet fans and collectors definitly need not only some kermit but also Sweetums for he has got to be close to being the biggest muppet figure ever. thought think that dark crystal figure would be a little creepy to have on a shelf. jim not only is he sought after but no doubt proably the most expensive figure for a muppet line.given how rare it is to have a real life person including some one as beloved as jim in plastic.
