The game is over. And what a game it was with the ups and downs for each of the teams. We're not here to talk about the game itself but the extra genre goodies that come with every Super Bowl.

The movie trailers.

Those studios who are willing to shell out the millions for a 30 second teaser in hopes of scoring big at the box office this summer. And while some of the big Hollywood elite did skip out on showing some of the films, a few did say yes to buying some spots. As noted in Rob's G.I. Joe article today, there's been a few online already but we were wondering if a studio was going to sneak one in during the game that nobody was expecting. Something that didn't pan out.

So let's highlight the 10 genre trailers which did happen. The trailers are listed in order of their release dates. Sound off below with your thoughts on each of the upcoming titles.

1. Race to Witch Mountain

The film that brings back Walt Disney's 70's franchise stars Dwayne Johnson, AnnaSophia Robb, Carla Gugino, Ciaran Hinds, Alexander Ludwig, Tom Everett Scott, Christopher Marquette, Cheech Marin and Garry Marshall. Director Andy Fickman led behind the camera, based on a screenplay that he co-wrote with Matt Lopez and Mark Bomback.

Plot Concept: For years, stories have circulated about a secret place in the middle of the Nevada desert, known for unexplained phenomena and strange sightings. It is called Witch Mountain, and when a Las Vegas cab driver (Dwayne Johnson) finds two teens with supernatural powers in his cab, he suddenly finds himself in the middle of an adventure he can't explain. When they discover that the only chance to save the world lies in unraveling the secrets of Witch Mountain, the race begins, as the government, mobsters and even extraterrestrials try to stop them. "Race to Witch Mountain" is a fun and thrilling adventure featuring incredible special effects.

Race to Witch Mountain will hit theaters March 13, 2009.

The military jumps into action and Susan is captured and secreted away to a covert government compound. There, she is renamed Ginormica and placed in confinement with a ragtag group of Monsters: the brilliant but insect-headed Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D.; the macho half-ape, half-fish The Missing Link; the gelatinous and indestructible B.O.B.; and the 350-foot grub called Insectosaurus. Their confinement is cut short, however, when a mysterious alien robot lands on Earth and begins storming the country. In a moment of desperation, the President is persuaded to enlist the motley crew of Monsters to combat the Alien Robot and save the world from imminent destruction.

Witch Mountain - Isn't this the third remake for this dead franchise? Why do we need to be subjected to it again?

Monsters Vs. Aliens - Finally! They've released what this thing is about. Looks like fun.

Fast And the Furious - I understand that the careers of all the actors involved in this remake (let's call it what it is) are dead or dying, but couldn't they have come up with a better (and more original, not to mention more up-to-date) plot?

Star Trek (in name only) - This movie removes anything the original franchise had that actually attracted people to it in the first place, and replaces it with lots of shiny surfaces, lots of explosions (to keep the stupid people looking at the screen) and zero plot.

Angels & Demons - didn't see the first one, couldn't care about the sequel.

Up - Pixar's bad movies are still light years better than anything else anyone else puts out. This looks like fun.

land of the Lost and Year One - Both look like video rental fodder.

Transformers 2 and GI joe - not enough seen to make a call since they were both teasers.

I'm still of the opinion that Star Trek will rule. This trailer does not change that.

Miner49er 2/2/2009 1:23:56 AM

For those living outside the US and can't see the trailers because they are on hulu; screw hulu! Go to Trailer Addict, they're all there.

Whiskeymovie 2/2/2009 2:10:11 AM

Oh my god,,,the actress who was the girl that escaped from With Mountain......I think it looks fun,,,better than the original, those kids used to annoy the fuck out of me.......Monsters Vs. Aliens looks funny, but way to many obvious jokes in the trailer alone........Fast & Furious looks dope, I love racing movies......Star Trek looks like it is going to be bad-ass, and I for one am on board with it........Angels & Demons should be a better movie because there is a sense of urgency, unlike Davinci.....I am not sure about UP, but Wall-E turned out to be good,,,,hell so did Ratotutouie.......Land of the Lost looks like it might be fun, but a little too Journey to the Center of the Earth-ish......and Transformers 2 and G.I. Joe look sick from what I have seen so far, but can't wait to see a full trailer to be sure. It looks like the really upped the action from T2.

8-7-08 is my day!!!!  Yo JOE!

xenomorph 2/2/2009 4:55:02 AM

The Transformers ad kicks ass!

Land of the lost looks funny, so does 1 a.d.

UP-a short old man is not as adorible as a robot.

Loved the book Angels & Demons. I hope that the movie is good. Oh, and daforce, a&d is a prequel to the davinci code. A&D was written first.

Sanity 2/2/2009 5:49:19 AM

xenomorph - The book A&D did take place before The Da Vinci Code, but they are changing the movie to make everything take place afterwards.  So the movie actally is a sequel.  Ron Howard made that decision.

monkeyfoot 2/2/2009 7:21:39 AM

I'm so down for Trek I can't stand to wait! So I'll sit with feet tapping nervously.... Transformers 2 was so choppy I couldn't quite tell what was what. Though I wasn't thrilled with the first I'll probably see this one...Up. It's Pixar so 'nuff said. ...I'll probably see Land of the Lost because I liked the original series as a kid....G.I. Joe was more impressive looking in that tease than I expected. The rest of the trailers were nothing that held my attention.

myklspader 2/2/2009 7:38:35 AM

Not one of them thrilled me at all to go rush and see them… and it is official based on the trailer “G.I. Joe” will suck.
