I don't mind a slow start if that's the case for the first of three movies.  I would like to enjoy this over the next 3 years.  I am just wondering if there will be standard release then extended release blu rays like they did with the dvd's on the first run?

I hope this holds up as a three movie set, but I am a little worried with just how thin the story might be spread. I mean we are taking 1 book, a kids book mind you, and stretching it into 3 films, and comparing it to three films that were well recieved and had a lot more sorce material. Hopefuly all of the other works can be put to good use to flesh out and warrent 3 new films.

I'm not worried. I think it's going to be great. But is it three years? I thought it the other movies were going to be released in 6 month intervals.

Do one saying what it can screw up.

Tickets bought!

I believe it's 2 1/2 years for the movie releases. The last one is getting a summer of 2014 release. So  only a 6 month wait for the last one.

I just took a glance at thie above list and I'm not reading the comments. Yesterday on the Dwarf article it told me too much and comments revealed plot points. Not everybody has read the book!

I saw the old Rankin/Bass animated TV movie many years ago and some bits and pieces my brother (who read all of Tolkien) told me. But just like reading the Walking Dead and Game of Thrones articles everybody talks too much. I prefer to let the story unfold to my fresh eyes.

In PJ and crew I trust.  For me, nuff said.

The excess of dwarf is a niggling doubt that I have held since the first cast photo.  I am wondering if there is going to be an extended cut released as well so that I don't end up with a useless copy of the original release.

Some good points on here, Rob.  I completely trust PJ and crew to deliver and to blow us away again.  In fact, I can almost say that this doesn't have much chance of failure for me.  The story is outstanding (I've read the book 3 times), the parts I've seen already look amazing, and if it's just half as good as The Lord of the Rings films it will still be incredible.  Can't wait 'til Friday! :)
