As with comic books and literature, the world of video games has long been fodder for feature film adaptation.  It is a testament to a game's popularity when it is chosen to make it to the big screen, but today Mania presents you our top choices for video games that we hope never make the transition.  Of course, having subjected ourselves to the Mario Bros., Resident Evil and Silent Hill films, we'd have a pretty strong argument that every video game belongs on our list of Video Games That Should Never Be Made Into Movies...

 10. Burgertime

9. Madden

8. Frogger

7. Cooking Mama

6. Breakout

5. Paperboy

4. Bubble Bobble

3. Custer's Revenge

2.  Dr. Mario

1. Tetris

Ha ha ha!!! The Tetris poster is absolute genius!

"You are the essential piece".

When sports movies are done well there pretty great. Hoosiers, Slapshot, Caddyshack, Major League Raging Bull, Rocky ect. In regards to football I enjoyed Remember the Titans, The Longest Yard (original) & Rudy. I'd love to see a football movie that actually had the full support of the NFL. I might be alone but I say bring on Madden!

sean william scott as the paperboy??   only if it was done a few years ago during the american pie craze.

stifler delivering papers, now that would be funny,  I know it is only a joke, but I could see it

wow...Burgertime...I really need to get my old NES's fixed...I loved Burgertime, and Frogger -- that little froggie was awesome, way back then on the old Atari

ooh, and Dr. Mario...fortunately I have that for the N64...

you've made me nostalgic, I need to go get Super Mario Bros on DVD down at Hastings now -- I was there opening night....good times, good times...

Custer's Revenge is starring Keiffer Sutherland and Troy McClure?  Is it an animated film then?  LOL!

krathwardroid 5/20/2010 7:17:18 AM

The propaganda poster for Tetris was funny.

StarlightGuard: Yeah, I was there for Super Mario Brothers, too. And both Mortal Kombat movies. :P

karas1 5/20/2010 8:00:47 AM

Mortal Kombat was a fun film.  Mortal Kombat 2 was bad beyond belief.

Um...Wasn't Custer's Revenge a game where a union soldier goes around raping bound Native American women?!?

SelectiveRealism 5/20/2010 9:02:28 AM

No one would be least bit interested in Tim Burton's Frogger?  Really?  lol
