A new photo has appeared on the (known) official site of JJ Abram's upcoming monster movie. It appears that a new photo will appear on 1-18-08.'s official site once a week. The new photo is time stamped 12:48 am and shows the people in a cloud of either dust or smoke. What does this say about the progress?
Photo #1: 1-18-08/ 12:01 am. Everyone's partying in the goodbye party.
Photo #2: 1-18-08/12:36 am. They're looking up at the monster in fear.
Photo#3: 1-18-08/12:48 am. Something has happened. Mass destruction and clouds of dust and smoke.
That's the timeline so far for JJ Abram's upcoming 1-18-08.
As JJ Abrams hinted, there are more sites online linked officially to the project i.e his statement that "1-18-08.com is the only one that has been found". He told AICN this to dispell the rumors that Ethanhaaswasright.com and Ethanhaaswaswrong.com was not linked to his movie. We do know, however, that those two sites are linked to Paramount. For what, who knows?
What we do know: The movie opens up on the date 1-18-08 as far as current Paramount schedules are concerned. The film stars Michael Stahl-David, Odet Jasmin, Mike Vogel and Lizzy Kaplan. It's directed by Matt Reeves and written by Drew Goddard. JJ Abrams is producing it and it is a monster movie.

A drink name used in Abrams' Alias (missed this episode), and shooting name of the movie (apparently).
Now, the site www.slusho.jp came up. A Japanese drink company, too campy to be real, especially when you read the history section...
Briefly (well, almost): A young girl named Noriko, nicknamed "the smallest whale" because she was drinking A LOT, was obsessed with inventing drinks made of very strange mixtures. She mysteriously disappeared at sea while on a quest to find the ultimate ingredient that would make her famous. Later, her son (a sea scientist) found this ingredient, guided by a dream of fish becoming an enormous whale, and followed his mom's dream by releasing a drink to the world-the tastiest, unlike anything on earth-. This ingredient being discovered in the deepest region of the ocean, it has to be kept in near frozen state to be preserved. "Everyone who tastes a Slusho tastes Noriko's dream, and becomes a small whale like Noriko -because you want to drink huge amounts of Slusho". Their slogan is "Bet you can't just drink six"
Japanese site, all in English (besides menu titles) , the wackiness of the story and the links to Abrams' world definitely point this site as one of the other sites that Abrams suggested to exist.
Mysterious and long hidden ingredient in the name of careless humans, dreams of fish growing to whale size, the sea, Japan... It really points to the various elements of classic Japanese Monster movies.
