A 13 minute look into Christopher Nolan's final Dark Knight film.

Mere hours after director Christopher Nolan immortalized his hand prints on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (and half a day after revealing their IMAX Spot), Warner Bros. Pictures and the director have revealed a new 13-minute TV special featurette on The Dark Knight Rises. Check it out below and sound off with your thoughts, Maniacs. The third installment in Nolan's trilogy stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Morgan Freeman. Nolan led behind the camera, based on a screenplay he wrote alongside his brother Jonathan.

Plot Concept: Warner Bros. Pictures' and Legendary Pictures' "The Dark Knight Rises" is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy.

It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act.

But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.

Leading an all-star international cast, Oscar winner Christian Bale ("The Fighter") again plays the dual role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. "The Dark Knight Rises" also stars Anne Hathaway, as Selina Kyle; Tom Hardy, as Bane; Oscar winner Marion Cotillard ("La Vie en Rose"), as Miranda Tate; and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, as John Blake.

Returning to the main cast, Oscar winner Michael Caine ("The Cider House Rules") plays Alfred; Gary Oldman is Commissioner Gordon; and Oscar winner Morgan Freeman ("Million Dollar Baby") reprises the role of Lucius Fox.

The Dark Knight Rises swoops into 2D and IMAX theaters on July 20, 2012.

I bleed Maniac through and through, H. One must insert a classic Cesar Romero laugh somewhere into this comment feedback soon. :)

Btw, I'm currently waging a war against the spammers at Mania. You can join the cause against those damn robotic idiots by joining my latest group "Maniacs Unite".

At the top tab, go to "Maniacs"...go to "Groups".......and go to our latest group.

It's going to be another place where you can talk to us...AND reproduce what occurred in the whole "Gay Comic Character" discussion...i.e. let you wonderful people have a place to argue amongst yourselves...

Hence..."Maniacs Unite"...as a group name.

Later genre geeks..

For those of you who doubt Tom Hardy's ability to give an outstanding turn as a crazy villain, you need to watch Bronson.  Such an amazing movie.  I've watched it so many times.

"Yeah, before I forget, I did come into this world as Michael Peterson.  But I'll go out with my fighting name, Charlie Bronson."

"Maniacs unite?" Oh hells yes, honestly the best news I have seen all day.

*ignore that it is 5 am on a Sunday when the civilized people of the world are either still sleeping or too plastered to post news*

HA, yeah, Zimmer has everything on everyone right now, he's peaking, he's composing not only his best work, but some of the best cinematic score ever! The Inception soundtrack?  Get the fuck out of here that schitt is amazing!  This TDKR score so far is on par and we get to hear his version of Superman music next summer!  Zimmer is the best right now, in my opinion of course.

mlaforce 7/8/2012 8:43:45 AM

Damn that was cool as hell! This is gonna be the movie of the summer, Deep deep story, characters with depth and a hell of alot Action baby, good stuff...

Zimmer is very good, agreed.  Bear McCreary is becoming my second favorite.

And Williams... Man, that guy is 80 years old and still composing..
