That won't be on the Blu-ray

The complete series of the Star Wars Saga arrives on Blu-ray September 16th. Without a doubt, in our minds, Star Wars never would have survived with out its toys. The juggernaut of merchandise helped, but it was the ability for children to continue the story that made Star Wars the beloved classic it is today. As we prepare for the release of the Blu-rays, we thought we would sit back and enjoy a few classic Star Wars Commercials. Much like the Holiday special, we know these won’t be on the Blu-ray.

C-3P0 and Chewbacca
Why was C-3PO spread eagled at the end?

Palitoy Vintage Star Wars Scout Walker Commercial
I wonder what happened after the freeze frame?

Star Wars Patrol Dewback Commercial
If we, the kids using the Dewback, find the droids the movie doesn’t happen, right?

Star Wars Vintage KENNER Commercial - Y-Wing
Why cards when they had all those play sets? Oh the clever line at the end, LOL.

Star Wars Vintage KENNER Commercial - Zuckuss / AT-AT Comm
This is a weird collection of figures and a terrible location.

Star Wars Vintage KENNER Commercial - Boba Fett's Slave 1
Slave 1 still rules!

Star Wars Vintage PALITOY Commercial - Rancor Monster
This one has a great set for the figures.

Star Wars Vintage KENNER Commercial - The Rebo Band
Love those window shades in the background.

Star Wars Vintage KENNER Commercial - Droids Collection
That A-Wing was sweet.

Star Wars Vintage KENNER Commercial - Bossk Mail Away Offer
There is just something weird in that there is only an adult in this one.

Star Wars Vintage KENNER Commercial - Yoda / R2-D2
Perhaps the first televised Yoda imitation.

Star Wars Vintage KENNER Commercial - Wampa / Tauntaun
Wampa! Thankfully they didn’t show the Tauntaun dying. Wampa!

Star Wars Vintage KENNER Commercial - Troop Transport
Where was this in the movie again?

Star Wars Vintage KENNER Commercial - Collectors Case
Damn, that is some bad hair on that kid.

Kenner Star Wars Toys Commercial '77
This one pretty much runs the gauntlet.

ugh..utube is blocked at work so I can't see them...I'll have to catch your bluray review when you write it.  I like your DVD reviews because of the detail.  Where everyone else will focus on the changes George has made again, noooooo, you'll tell us about the rest as well.  I'm more curious about what's on the extra discs than I am about the movies.

I love how whenever they had to take someone out , they just knocked them down lol nobody was lasered or killed.

LAME !

Though if I can make a request when you do review the bluray, I would really like to know if he cleaned up the original trilogy sf/x.  In the last DVD release of Empire, for example.  When the tie fighters are flying around you can see the box around them totally taking me out of the movie.  I would like to know if he cleaned those up.  Still don't know how he released that last set without fixing it.

He's also fixed other things, like problem of Vader not shouting "No" when he throws the Emperor down the shaft, and the problem of Jabba's door being too small.

God I feel old as I remember all of these commercials. :(

Funny to hear those kids attempt British accents. There is a little Carrie Fisher in all of us. :)

My brother and I collected these when we were kids, 1st editions right after the first movie, we played with them until the arms fell off, some got lost in the backyard, some became chew toys for the dog, some were flushed down the toilet.  Awhile ago I stopped by a collectibles shop and saw those same toys we we playing with and OH MY GAWD!  MONEY!!  If I had known then how much they'd be worth now... ehhh I'd have still played them into the ground, but I woulda bought a second set and kept them bagged, tagged, and ready for my retirement.

When I was in Kindergarten, around the time "Empire" first came out, I remember being in the yard of a kid in the neighborhood with that other kid, my cousin, and brother,-we had the snowspeeder, Tauntaun, and a bunch of figures- making up our own stories taking them out of the box (I had my Yoda guarding a bush in the yard where Vader set a trap), and all that. Great memories. I know you can't go back. I hope my nephew and nieces do have fun like this, too.
