Transformers will win. And shame on all of you for not going to see The Mist.

Man, that's a tough list.

I'm thinking 300, Beowulf and Pirates..

As much as Transformers looked nice, it didn't break any new ground.. Pirates is in the list simply because of the former 2.

I haven't even heard of The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep.

And this doesn't matter if the writers strike isn't over by then, it will just be canceled.

My vote would be for Sunshine.

bdd, the Water Horse movie is that one about the Loch Ness Monster. I'm surprised you haven't heard of it - my local theater has been playing the Water Horse trailer to death!

My money is on 300 for best visual effects.

the Mist fx's didnt break any new ground either.
I actually thought that Transformers broke new ground with the cgi transformations. They didnt scale the cgi car parts to "hide" them...they went from 100% car to 100% robot ...on screen.

For the sake of originality I would say Sunshine cause we have never seen the sun in such magnitude but for nostalgia I would say 300.
