Really? Freddy's glove is #12? That's pretty sad. I've never even heard of that flying guillotine thingie. If you're going for a flying blade, I'd go for Krull's thing, or for the razor boomerang from Road Warrior. And while I agree that the M41A Pulse Rifle was pretty cool... "iconic"? Certainly not #4. Old Painless is more iconic than the M41A.  What about The Bride's Hattori Hanzo sword?  Not a terrible list. Better than many I've seen here.  Just a few "huh?" reactions, not the typical "WTF??!?" reacions these lists usually produce.

"The Glow" from The Last Dragon, I don't care if it's technically a weapon or not, it should be on the list!!

The guns from Eraser.

Ghostbuster Proton-Packs.  There not weapons you say?  Tell that to all those Ghosts!

Another vote for the Bride's sword.

The Death Star?  maybe, maybe not

Wise Guy is right but i would have said it like this:

List of Iconic movie weapons:

#1 Chuck Norris

End of list

I would agree Robocops gun (Auto-9) is badass and an honorable mention shoudl have been rendered. But you can wish in one hand and crap in the other and see which one gets filled quicker.

Yay!  The lightsaber wins!  But where would you rank Star Trek's phasers?

No Rambo Knife?

If there was a knife left off the list, it belongs to Norman Bates.

Hanibal Lecter's mouth?! C'mon, that's not a weapon.

The Bride's sword would be a good inclusion, (though I hated that movie) but I'd have picked the six-fingered man's sword.

Great list.  I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Terminator's shotgun.  His one handed reload is classic!  The T1000 could even be considered since his whole body is a weapon.  I'd also add Anduril, Aragorn's sword.  There is a 400 dollar replica at Silver Snail near where I work and I always want to buy it.  But I'm afraid my wife would just use it to castrate me for spending that much on a sword.  Then again, if I could use her many expensive purses and shoes against her I probably would.

Braveheart had a kick ass sword as well.

And I know they are not iconic per say, but all of the weapons the mech from District 9 had kicked ass.  Especially the gravity gun.  He killed a guy with a pig!

Drop the weapon...you have 15 seconds to comply.

.....I am now authorized to use physical force.
