I hate to say it, because I'm such a huge fan of the original, but I think it looks pretty cool and I'm looking forward to it.  In fact, I actually got excited when they first announced that they were making this several years ago.  I feel like dudes like Gary Oldman and Sammy L. wouldn't have jumped on board if they didn't think it was gonna be halfway decent.  And I'm hoping mayne this will mark a comeback for good ole Mr. Mom.

VT you just won the avatar contest as far as I'm concerned.  LOL  :)

WHO is that chick?

Film looks pretty good so far.  Hope there's more dark humor in it like the first one.

Doesn't look awful, but I don't like the fact that Alex seems self-aware. Part of the greatness of the original was Alex Murphy slowly rediscovering himself and his humanity.

I'm a huge fan of Robocop and the mini-series Robocop: Prime Directives (the only true sequel to the original movie, IMHO) so I will probably give it a look.

Okay, I'm in.  I just wish that Peter Weller was in it, at least as a cameo.

Looks good! We will have to see another trailer before I get too excited though. I hope he slowly rediscovers himself, that was a huge part in the original. There will definitely be a lot of robots and drones. I think my only complaint so far is how he becomes Robocop. The shredding to pieces was simply brutal, showing where Murphy came from and why he had to go through such a transformation. I know they use the car bomb scenario simply because the world we live in now, but if the script stinks then all the cool special effects will be worthless

I just realized the film's fatal flaw:  it is already apparent that by the year 2028, the city of Detroit won't exist anymore.  This could potentially ruin the suspension of disbelief of moviegoers who have read a newsfeed or watched the news at all in the last 6 months.

This just pisses me off to no end. I will download it but there is no way I am paying a pot of piss for watching it. Hollywood is shit sometimes so bad.

There is no way that this can be better than the original Robocop. None at all. It was the sarcastic biting social commentary that made the original Robocop what it was. This movie has none of it. They turned a movie that was about dissing on society and what breaks people down into a soulless action movie. Piss on that.

Axia. I get ya. I'd buy that for 8 dollars.

Ditto Axia. You said what I was thinking perfectly. The entire message of the first one was about social evolution and where our society was going using extemism imagery. This one seems to just discard that in favor of being a bad ass action film. I bet OCP won't even be evil in this one.
