MSU Comics Forum this weekend.  Guy Davis speaking friday night!!!  Not really a con but a great and small event, very personal and focusing on the creators.  It's a great time.

And Motor City Comic Con is May!!  Hell Yeah!!

I used to go with my wife and kids to San Diego Comic-con every year until it started selling out 6 months prior to the date and my schedule is NOT that flexible so, we've been missing out these past few years. Anyway, I thought this article was funny as hell. One of my biggest complaints about the con was the smell. How can so many people not know anything about hygiene? Really. My second biggest complaint is the rude people. There's really no excuse. It's just as easy to say excuse me as it is to shove your way through. You all know what I mean. Fortunately they are always few and far between with the majority of attendees being mostly polite. One of the worst instances was when a starlett was making her way across the floor and one of her entourage guys shoved my daughter out of the way. I got into his face about it and made him nearly shite his pants. Ah, the good times...

I live in Houston, TX and Comicpalooza is this weekend here, so I more than likely will be there...Saturday seems to be the day where the biggest names will be in attendance: Bruce Campbell and Ray Pak

SHOWER! Every day. I know you let it slide because you have no chance of dating a woman unless she's in a furry outfit or or the rare gal who wants to reenact scenes from Transformers with you.

Rule #5 of Mark Evanier's guide to conventions:

With soap.

Maybe they're hoping to hook up with another person who also foregoes hygiene. After all, they're pretty much immune to the stench...

Just came back from the Wizard Convention in Toronto....HUGE disappointment. I was talking to many of the booth personal and they were saying how most of them booked their registration at the end since Wizard was asking too much for the cost to be there so they HAD to make deals with Wizard in the end if not the whole thing would've been cancelled. So many of the big comic shops refused to go because of the cost Wizard was charging...literrally, there was about 8K people maximum at this convention...for the whole weekend. The entry fee was too much and there was hardly any booths for comics.

Very disapointed and from the looks of things, many of the comic shops felt it was poorly orginzed and too costly. I hope Wizard makes things better for next year.
