21 JUMP STREET heading to the big screen

Paramount to produce updated version of 80s television series

Paramount Pictures will soon be bringing an adaptation of 21 JUMP STREET to a big screen near you.

VARIETY reports JUMP STREET co-creators, Stephen J. Cannell (THE A-TEAM, WISEGUY) and Patrick Hasburgh (THE A-TEAM, THE GREATEST AMERICAN HERO) will script an updated version of youthful police officers who are assigned undercover duty in a local high school to solve crimes and bust drug dealers. Johnny Depp (PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO), Peter DeLuise (CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT), Holly Robinson Peete (HANGIN' WITH MR. COOPER), Dustin Nguyen (V.I.P.) and Richard Grieco (POINT DOOM) starred in the original series.

Cannel and Douglas Rosen (THE GOOD DOCTOR) will produce, production dates have yet to be announced.
