28 DAYS LATER gets an extra ending

On Friday July 25, Fox Searchlight is adding the original, darker ending to its hit horror film 28 DAYS LATER. After the film's credits have finished rolling, the words "What if..." will appear on the screen followed by the alternate ending.

"The alternate ending is bloody scary, but I think that the pure horror enthusiast will enjoy seeing it the way it was originally conceived," commented 28 DAYS LATER director Danny Boyle. Fox Searchlight is inviting audience members to email to the director and screenwriter Andrew Garland at 28dl@foxsearchlight.com with their questions and thoughts. Answers from the duo to the emails will be then posted at www.foxsearchlight.com.

Ironically, the new ending to 28 DAYS LATER will arrive on the film's 29th day of release.
