The official website for 30 DAYS OF NIGHT starring Josh Hartnett and Melissa George has gone live with a trailer.

Based on the graphic novel of the same name, the story is set in Barrow, Alaska, the northernmost town in the U.S. where the sun does not appear for more than 30 days during the dead of winter. An evil force emerges from the darkness, striking terror into the town. The husband and wife sheriffs are forced to choose between saving themselves and helping the town survive until daylight returns.

The film also stars Danny Huston, Ben Foster and Manu Bennett. The script was written by Stuart Beattie and Brian Nelson. David Slade directed. 30 DAYS opens this October.

Good goddamn, but that looks good!

It looks like they're sticking with the tone of the original graphic novel, and even the look of Ben Templesmith's art. Very cool. I'm definitely seeing this in the theaters.

I never heard if this graphic novel. The previews looked pretty good though. Consider me interested.

#2, this is an awesome read.... it reads like a really good horror movie (so that should help it)....It has an original spin on vampires, they are truly savage beasts in this book, not pretty boys in velvet... some of the bloodiest violent death scenes though, hope they stick to the gory details and don't water this down.

Very nice looking. Did anyone else get that 28 Days Later vibe with the colors, music, and timing? Looks very slick and I am looking forward to jumping out of my skin in the theater.

A horror movie I AM excited about. My choice far and above the Will Smith flick.

My buddy just lent me this series, and very cool read. Kept me very entertained. This looks very cool, and after Lucky Number Slevein, I think Josh Hartnet has proved himself as a good actor, IMO. Can't wait.

Loved the comic... and I can see I am going to love the movie too. Looks like it could be one of the (if not) best vampire movies to come out in a very long time. I can't wait!

This does look good. And I am getting tired of vampires as gothic, elegant, sexy creatures. They'd be running everything if they were (and in some stories they do). Make them vile beasts again. I wanna see this
