What's a "seqeul"?
The folks at Bloody Disgusting traveled to the American Film Market to discover that Mandate Pictures is shopping around a sequel to the comic-based vampire flick '30 Days of Night'.
Sequels and prequels have been discussed and rumored quite a bit in the run up to the films release, but the picture of what was actually being planned has been a bit confusing. A live-action prequel series called 'Blood Trails' ran on the FEARnet outlet concurrent to the release of the film. This year FEARnet launched A sequel to that one, which also is a bit of a sequel to the feature film, called 'Dust to Dust'.
To be honest, we've never been really sure if the FEARnet spin offs were the sequels and prequels that we'd heard about, but apparently another theatrical film will be made.
Bloody Disgusting reports that Steve Niles (creator of the franchise) and Ben Ketai (who wrote the FEARnet installments) are working on the script. The synopsis for the movie: "In the sequel to the bone-chilling 30 DAYS OF NIGHT, Stella seeks revenge on the blood-thirsty vampires that destroyed her sleepy Alaskan town."
This would follow the graphic novel series, which saw Stella going public with the story of Barrow and sparking an shadow effort to rid the world of vampires. Melissa George played Stella in the movie.

after the ending of the first film I knew she would take revenge against the vamps ala john carpenter's "vampires". the look on her face after hartnett's character died was as if she wanted to kick some ass. I would love another 30 days of night. a very good "hard edged" horror movie.
Like I said in the rumors thread, Loved the book, loved the movie and would really like to see more. I never did read the first sequel though I have the mini around here somewhere, maybe I'll dig it up and read it finally.
