300: Rise of an Empire - Official Trailer 1

Can a sequel be possible?

Here is the trailer for Warner Brother’s 300 sequel, 300: Rise of an Empire. It looks to have the same feel as the first film, but can it survive at the box office? Since 300 arrived over half a decade ago there have been numerous copy cats on both the big and small screen. It will be interesting to see if the masses turn out.

Synopsis: Based on Frank Miller's latest graphic novel Xerxes, and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster "300," this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles (Sullivan Stapleton) attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war.

"300: Rise of an Empire" pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro), and Artemisia (Eva Green), vengeful commander of the Persian navy.

The film features Eva Green, Rodrigo Santoro, Sullivan Stapleton, Lena Headey, and is directed by Noam Murro (Smart People)

300: Rise of an Empire arrives March 7th, 2014.

 love, Love, LOVE IT!

It almost looks like Zack Snyder never left.  This is going to be fun, which they hadn't pushed it so far back

Yeah this looks awesome.  I'm glad that it's a direct continuation of the 1st movie.  I thought it was going to be a completely different story.  The naval angle they are taking looks incredible.  It's also nice to see Lena as a good guy again and that she seems to have an expanded role.  She was such a strong presence in the first even though she was barely in it.

Actually, this looks way better than I anticipated.

@Wise I also wish they hadn't of held back on the release date. Not after watching this.. the ending with the man on the horse... aahh

Oh boy, this will really fire up that weasel president of Iran!  This looks much better than I expected!  I am guessing this is a loose depiction of the Battle of Salamis.

Looks outstanding! I was really worried that it wouldn't be more than a pale imitation of the original. SO glad that it looks to be so much more than that!

I'm also stoked to see Sullivan Stapleton getting some big screen work!  I'm a fan of his character on Cinemax's "Strike Back."  I'm excited to see what he can do with a different character (though it looks like he isn't departing his roots too far, with that scene with Eva Green!  LOL).

I loved the visuals and the power of the first movie.  Didn't enjoy the cartoon element.  Wished they had made it more realistic, but I understand they were making a movie from the novel and not the history books.  I'm sure this will be just as fake and messed up, but probably also just as fun.

I'm a fan of Green and Headey.  I don't know anyone else.

It does look awesome. I beleive this is based on the Miller novel wich is loosely based on the actual events after the 300 battle. I'm just thinking people might not be as enthused for a sequel after so many years from the original.

Damn! They are still battling that Stargate Goa'uld Xerxes! SG-1 really needs to time travel back and help them out!
