4 Minute Rhino Appearence?

No Over Crowding it Seems

Ever since Batman Returns, movie studios feel as if there needs to be at least two villains in each superhero flick. There have been exceptions from time to time, but rarely do we get just one villain for the hero to square off against. If you had any trepidation's about Marc Webb’s Amazing Spider-Man 2 being too crowded, you can relax. Webb has addressed the issue with: "Paul [Giamatti] is in the movie for four minutes".

He discussed the overall issue of too many villains, "We're obviously familiar with the complaints people had," Webb replied, then explained that the key to the movie's success lies in the writing. "We're very careful to make sure the stories intertwine. For Peter Parker, it's very important that you create obstacles that are difficult to overcome."

All hope for this flick has just left.  Rhino, who I thought was gonna be the best part of this movie, now is going to get the Colossus (X3) treatment. But at least that gives us more time for the terrible looking Goblin villian.

I want to see Kraven riding Sandman in tornado form past a building that has Black Cat, Mary Jane, & Calypso sunbathing on top of it. Also, Venom & Carnage playing chess in some park.

I figured something was up when Rhino wasn't in most of the trailers.

What, Batman returns is not the first movie to have more than one villian in one move, Superman 2, many james bond movies etc. I don't think its whether a move has multiple villians, it's how well the piece is written that counts.

Is it just me or does Gwen/Emma sound way more bitchy in German?

This movie seems very ok to me.  Ok Electro is the next villain to get the big screen treatment.  Good for him.  Not sure if i like Jamie Fox playing him but what-evs.  Then you add in the Rhino and I didn't think it was a bad thing....but then they made it a giant Avatar robot rip-off...yeah not so much.  Then they add in the Green Goblin too?  ::shrugs::  So much for the slow-burn.

And then on top of all that you have the freakin' sub plot of the Gwen romance and the deepening secret of Peter's parents.  It just seems like there is way too much going on even for a four minute Rhino sequence.  If you are going to do it...do it freaking right.  I agree with the ElDogg Colossus comment.  It seems like such a waste and too much of a dick tease to give us a taste and then nothing more.

Hopefully Colossus gets more screen lovin' in the next X movie.....buuuut I doubt it.

Sheesh.  I remember times when articles like these didn't exist.  There was no internet, and we could just watch the trailer for a movie and decide whether or not the movie was worth watching.  Now, we get to argue about EVERYTHING and hear the ridiculous amounts of opinions months and month before the movie even comes out.  Soon, we'll know about the tread patterns on the shoes of all the actors in the movies in each scene, and someone will comment that "all hope is lost".  HA!

Anyway.  That's my rant.  Now for my opinion :)  I'm watching Part 2 no matter what.  Scorpions, lizards, rhinos, electros, noah-body(kids, ask your parents), it doesn't matter.  I love Spiderman and if Andrew Garfield is back as Peter Parker, I'm there!  Awesome work on a project that I seriously wondered about, but was thuroughly happy.  (Nothing against Tobey as Parker.  I loved that version too)

Disclosure:  Everyone that comments on this post will probably be watching this movie too, whether you admit it here or not :)

I'm not bummed about Rhino's limited screen time. Let's be honest the guy is mostly a brainless  heavy.

But I'd bet he'll be back in a sequel, maybe as part of the SS
