@Dark - Dude, your way of doing it was my first draft but then they told me I had to write some more :)

@Chad - Wow man, thanks a bunch.  Coming from a Mania.com writer like yourself, it means a lot.  It means so much I forgive you for liking Gi Joe.

Why aren't people calling it "The Last Samurai in space?"  Simple, becuase we already pegged Last Samurai as Dancing With Samurai years ago.  When pointing out the simmilarities between a new film and an older one - you pick the better know, more-lauded original over the prior rip-off.  I would think that would be obviouse (maybe it was, and a 3-point article was too short, I suppose).

It still looks like it's going to rock.

Hey, you earned it Hanso.  Just don't start writing about comics, okay?  I don't want to be out of a job.

And honestly... you should never forgive me for liking G.I. Joe.  Even I know how wrong it was.  I'm a dirty, dirty man.

After writing one, you never get to complain about list articles again son.

I liked your article Son!

It owns Thursday, son! and it's a fun read.

You forgot to mention Cameron is one hell of an artist as well. The sketches of Rose in Titanic were done by Jim Cameron hisself!

lol, Hey Hanso, I've been on your side with Lost, TDK, and most others, this is one of the few times that I've differed in opinion.

And again, I'm not all out hating on Avatar since I haven't seen the damn thing, but Dances with Wolves and any movie dealing with or compared to Native Americans makes me sleepy.  Jeremiah Johnson, The Searchers, and other films included, even though they're considered great films too.

I just don't want Avatar to clean up come Oscars, cuz it definitely does not look worthy passed the technical awards.

Superb article Hanso.  Not a best picture by any means, but have you ever noticed the amazing similarities between "Terra" and "Avatar"?   If you haven't seen Terra yet, do yourself a favour and check it out.  I think James Cameron did.

@Chad - Lol, I don't keep up with comics so no need to worry. If anything this article may help the Mania.com writers, now if the boss gives you any grief you can tell him "For God's sake man, you put up a Hanso article and your giving me shit!?"

@Gauley - Trust me, I ain't complaining about lists, Vs or any other articles they run on this site. After I took a stab at this, I got way more respect for the writers of the site. I've never written anything in my life and for me this was waaaaay harder than it looks and much more than what I expected.  Glad you digged it.

@Tkay - Thanks Tkay.

@Ripum - lol, no worries man, I was just messing with ya.  Our Lost love is too deep to break us apart :)

hanso 12/17/2009 10:48:32 AM

@ Roqueja - I have not seen that but I've heard of it.  Maybe after Avatar I'll give it a try.

Wiseguy 12/17/2009 11:19:35 AM

@Roqueja, perhaps you're not aware that Cameron wrote this 15 years ago and has been actively in production the past 4. I don't think Terra had anything to do with AVATAR except that maybe the Terra guys read Cameron's scriptment years ago online
