THE 4400 is a new science fiction series that's been given an order by USA Network. Created by Scott Peters, and with executive producers Francis Ford Coppola (APOCALYPSE NOW, FIRST WAVE), Rene Echevarria (DARK ANGEL) and Maira Suro onboard, the series begins when 4,400 missing people reappear back on the Earth after being abducted by aliens. The returnees appear to not have aged a single day even though some of them have been reported missing for years if not decades. Compounding the mystery further, not one abductee has one memory of what happened to them when they were taken away.
The network has ordered six episodes (including the pilot) of the hour-long series. Casting is underway and filming is likely to begin in February with a likely air date sometime in the summer of 2004.
