The main thing I like about Enemy Mine is that everything builds up to the final scene of the film. It's a great payoff. Otherwise it always seems to feel very long. I also liked the music.

No Buckaroo Banzai? :-)

Ahhh, now THERE is a classic of classics! The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai: Across the 8th Dimension. One of the quirkiest, but also plain WEIRD movies that I TOTALLY love to this day! Peter Weller BEFORE Robocop! And Ellen Barkin when she was still pretty sexy! But John Lithgow's Dr. Lizardo was an absolute masterpiece! He IS Dr. Lizardo!! Hey, Manjisan, what WAS that Watermellon doing there? Remember the scene? ;-)

Enemy Mine was great. I think it was just a bit high-minded for the average sci-fi fan of the time. Or maybe people thought it was too preachy - not subtle enough with the symbolism. Very cool movie, though. Runaway was really cool, too. At least, I remember it being cool. It's been forever since I've seen it. Not only were the spider(-ish) robots cool, the programmable bullets were bad ass! Early Gene Simmons, too. Very cool. Simmons was also pretty cool in Wanted: Dead or Alive, with Rutger Hauer.

Enemy Mine is an absolute favorite of mine. Oh an dno, Drac was nto Male, you just stated exactly what Drac was. ASEXUAL. Where is Jarrod? Time Bandits will always be a classic. The List is fairly intriguing.

That's a great list Joey! While I haven't seen the even numbered movies you mentioned, I wholeheartedly agree with Enemy Mine and Time Bandits (can you tell I like Time Bandits?). I remember seeing TB in theaters when I was a kid... I must have seen it 3 or 4 times there. Good times. And Lifeforce was a goodie too, but I would more likely file that under "guilty junkfood". It felt that way, not to mention the guilty-nerd pleasure of the hot naked alien.

Enemy Mine was one of my favorite films when it came out. i could never understand why it didn't get attention. The kind of cerebral character driven scifi we stuill don't get enough of. Runaway was badass, one of the best cop-scifi movies out there. It was life a futuristic Leathal Weapon or Die Hard. Brilliant FX that still hold up today, those spiders are flat friggin creepy. Love the heat seeking bullets and Selleck was at his action hero best, love the bad guy Simmons and Kirstie Alley was good too.

I was pretty young when I saw Time Bandits, but I remember thinking it was pretty cool and odd in all the right places.
