I "saw" House of a Thousand Yawns.  I gotta' learn not to type before I've had coffee.

To be fair, I haven't seen Halloween the remake because I didn't care for the originals.  I prefer zombie movies to slasher flicks.  Now if Zombie made a zombie movie, I could maybe get into that.

House of a 1000 corpses was a let down for me..but not a bad movie at all. I just thought it would be more gory then it was. But its over all a good movie.  I liked The Devils Rejects better :)

I'm a huge fan of Zombie's Halloween AND Carpenter's. I like BOTH interpretations. Please stop whining. Even if you think that his versions SUCK, there are more dangerous devils in Hollywoodland to be afraid of. I don't think your rant and taste on this particular director should take up an article on the site when there are more important things to gripe about then a "love him/hate him" scenario. I have never once bitched on a forum like this, but this really agitates me.

Uwe Boll is the Uwe Boll of horror films.

But at least he's a somewhat entertaining person. He's a funny guy on his commentary tracks and behind the scenes stuff. I feel that every director has one good film in them. Uwe Boll is an amateur boxer. He should make a film about amateur boxing. Maybe it will turn out good since it is a subject he knows a little about. The main reason he stinks is because he keeps taking video game properties and destroying whatever good name they might've had. He should try writing an original story. The stupid SOB says he used to make movies at home with a video camera. I wonder if he had an imagination.

Casting family in movies is wrong? Ever heard of a budget?

Casting his wife helps keep cost down and allows him to throw more money at other stuff. Not to mention, she's not an absolutely terrible actress and she is damn hot. I thought she was hot in The Devil's Rejects. This particular part of this article reminds me of the Feast Project Greenlight when the director John Gulager wanted to cast his father Clu Gulager who had been acting for something like 40 years and had been in a number of westerns with the likes of Clint Eastwood and John Wayne. The casting director gave him shit because she didn't want to bring in family. Feast was a low-budget movie and they had the opportunity to save money and hire a veteran character actor with decades of experience.

Ron Howard always put Clint in his films because he's cheap and family is easier to work with. That's why all directors put family or friends. Freaking Robert Rodriguez put his Realtor in Planet Terror.

"Chinese, Japanese, dirty knees, look at these!"

Rob Zombie is a b movie director.  Calling him anything more than that is akin to the time honoured tradition of pissing on somebody's head and and telling them that it's raining.

 I just don't understand the RZ-hating.

Again, I liked House of 1000 Corpses, really liked The Devil's Rejects, and I found his take on Halloween not bad at all - actually much better than most of the sequels, with great nostalgic casting, IMO. I haven't seen H2 yet, doing that on sunday, so I'll see then.

Yes, there's perhaps too many hillbillies, too much small-time satanic imagery, raw violence and an obsession for the 70's, but, what else to expect from that guy. Comparing him to Uwe Boll is really, really harsh. Sure, he ain't no Ingmar Bergman or Jean-Luc Goddard, but no one does the 70's like he does except for QT... Iin the end I think RZ projects are a love it or hate it kind of thing.

RZ also has a sincere personal love and passion for the genre, and I don't think he does these projects "just for the money". I do agree however that he should stay away from more remakes/blatant homages and do something more original like his earlier efforts.

I LOved House of 1000 Corpses, LOVED IT. REally liked Devils Rejects, and Halloween.

The hate comes because people see others with something they don't have and have to hate on it...

All of your critisisms are SHIT!

Nepotism, it's OK when others do it, but not Zombie, AND SERIOUSLY how many films has Clint Howard been in, I mean REALLY been in. Ans Apatows Wife I couldn't pick her out of a film if you paid me...

Critism #1- BULLSHIT!

Narcissim is what drives Hollywood, I would argue that ALL artist are narcisitic to a point. AND ALL artist tend to have thier art represent them. Look at Comic book artist, SO many end up having their faces that they draw resemble their own face. So YEAH I'd say that anyone who makes a 2 hr long feature to be shown on a huge screen world wide is narcissistic.

Critism #2- BULLSHIT!

Uhhhhh...yeah I'm sure Zombie, not the distributor, or the studio decides when the movie comes out....C'mon I thought this was a movie site?!! WTF

Critisim #3 - BULLSHIT!

How often on this site I read "Oh there is no originality anymore, boo hoo, why is everything the same?"

THEN, something different comes along ( A different interpretation of a classic story) and we hear "Of course we wanted to see the same thing over again" Uhhh... Am I missing something?

critisism #4 - BULLSHIT!

So the fact that people like his films, and he could make more is a reason to stop him...what a well thought out ....SHUT UP!!

Critisim#5- BULLSHIT!!!

WHEN will you internet "journalist" learn that snarkyness is no substitute for writing....Learn your craft, just because you're on the internet doesn't mean you can get away with this shit!

Did Rob Vaux write ths under a pen name?

LONG LIVE ROB ZOMBIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm actually surprised that there are this many people that like Zombie. I grew up watching his videos thinking they were damn cool but when I saw House of 1000 corps. and then Devils Rejects I thought this guy maybe should just direct and let somebody else write. He's really into the deep fried white trash hillbilly stuff and to say his writing skills are horrible would be more than kind.

Then he went and remade my favourite horror film of all time Halloween and sure as shit he turned Michael Myers origin story into a white trash hillbilly scenario. Why? I could see it in the devils rejects but why Halloween. The white trash backstory just seems so out of place in the context of the story. I don't understand why he can't break out of that. Can somebody explain? About fifteen minutes into his remake I was irritated as shit. I gave it a shot, I gave him the benefit of the doubt, he blew it for me. I've been burned too many times by RZ I'm passing on Halloween 2. I'm going to see Inglorious Basterds again.

I think Stephen Sommers should be stopped before Rob Zombie is stopped.  Not a lot of people watch Zombie movies but Sommers is turning kids retarded with his summer releases.

Gualey - Bravo sir, bravo.
