Although I agree that some of these movies deserved to be on this list, Cloverfield & Phantom Menace.  We all know Phantom Menace was a suckfest compared to the original trilogy.  And Cloverfield didn't make me motion sick at all, but the camera work was annoying as hell.  I would never knowingly watch another movie like it again, even though the end was pretty cool. 

Underworld, in my opinion, does not deserve to be on this list.  If Underworld fell so flat, why did it make almost 5 times it's original budget in theaters alone?  This does not even count DVD sales.  I personally liked this movie, and not just because Kate Beckinsale is one of the hottest chicks ever, although that does help.  I thought the movie was considerably better than the trailer.

PS:  I love how you guys can use whatever 'language' you want in the articles but when we try and voice frustrations over certain things almost everything we write can't be posted due to language.  Awesome double standard.

Godzilla, without the lizard.  Kids in the museuem.  Or the old men on the pier.  I wanted to watch Godzilla, from the people who brought us Stargate and ID4.  The other trailers looked interesting, mostly those without the giant lizard thing or Matthew Broderick. Watching the movie, not so wonderful.

Damn, I don't remember anyone walking out of the theatre hating Phantom Menace, and I went to three shows in two days.  It took awhile before the haters reared their heads.  Or maybe I ignored them.

Punisher War Zone, I was disgusted with that movie since I saw the first trailer and people on this site called me an idiot fan boy because I objected to what looked like violence porn and a dumb piece of shit story.  And I am a big fan of ultra violence, the Punisher and even storyless movies from time to time and I didn't like what the trailer was showing.   Or went.  But, I had such low expectations of liking this movie thanks to the commercial, that when I finally watched it, it wasn't as I thought it would be.  I mean I walked away a bigger fan of the Thomas Jane version, but it was still the what would you like more:  Being punched in the face or kicked in your love junk? 

Honestly, Batman & Robin.  Trailers way better than the movie.  The longest lasted 2 minutes.  The movie, what an hour and a half?  I went to see Arnold.  He didn't disappoint. 

Episode one should be number one without a doubt.  I won't start the prequel bashing as I've done that enough but I would watch the trailer again before the movie.  Though you are correct, there were warning signs in that trailer but little did we know those warning signs would dominate the movie.

As a longtime fan of monster movies, going all the way back to THEM!, The Deadly Mantis and yes, King Kong and the original Godzilla, I also thought Cloverfield was pure crapola. Call me old fashioned, but I kinda like the notion of knowing just what the hell was going on, AND what was destroying New York. Screw all that mystery shit! Meanwhile, the Blair Witch camerawork was stupid beyond measure, I mean, come on, when your whole world was literally being torn down around your ears, are you REALLY going to waste time filming it all instead getting the hell out of Dodge? Give me a break!

As for Punisher: War Zone, I knew that was going to be a steaming pile when I saw Frank doing a spinarama from that chandelier while shooting bad guys like something out of a mid 80's Hong Kong Kung-Fu flick. Thank God I didn't waste my time on that nonsense!

Underworld is suspect...I didn't watch those movies till DVD but I enjoyed them for what they were.  B movie yes but I don't think the trailer was better since I didn't think it was good enough for me to go see it in the theater.  But that's just my opinion.

Dark....you ignored them because trust me we were there.  I even said at the end of EP1 out loud, WTF was that?

As for Underworld, it did NOT disappoint, not in my book. Are you kidding? I'd pay cash money to watch Kate Beckinsale read the classifieds from my local newspaper! Especially if she was wearing Selene's hotter than hell black vinyl outfit! WHOO!!

Meanwhile, the less said about Star Wars Episode One, the better.

Any Devlin/Emmerich movie. ID4 had such a kick ass teaser/trailer and was a huge letdown. Godzilla. The same thing. Great trailer. Actually, the first 10-15 minutes of Godzilla was good. A great build-up to a total mess.

Wolverine Origins was another. Just the WW2 scene, some Weapon X stuff and interactions with Sabretooth made me giddy. Then paid $11 to see this crap.

On the subject of trailers, what about the trailers that reveal way too much that you get a full summary of the movie and major spoilers? I've had this debate with friends many times and when I see one of these trailers at the movies, we all look at each other and say 'well, I just saw the movie summarized in 2 minutes. I'm saving my money" Especially after seeing the What Lies Beneath and Cast Away trailers (both Zemeckis films)

I saw Cloverfield in the theater, despite reservations about the camera work and a predeliction for motion sickness.  I liked it a lot.  I've always wondered what it was like to be one of the crowds of people running away from the destruction of Godzilla in Tokyo.  Now I know.

The big problem with Phantom Menace is it was a movie without a hero.  It wasn't Anakin's movie.  He wasn't introduced until half way through.  It wasn't Obi Wan's movie.  He didn't make the decisions, Qui Gon Jin did.  It wasn't Qui Gon's movie.  He died at the end.  It was really Palpatine's movie.  He was the mover and shaker and the "heros" we were following really didn't have an impact on what was to come.  They were the rats in the maze, not the scientist calling the shots.

Also, way too much time was spent on special FX sequences which didn't advance the plot.  The pod race was a long (long long) video game commercial and I knew it when I saw the movie in the theater.

I don't think I've seen the rest of the movies on this list.

The new Godzilla should have been on this list. It's trailer was awesome the scene where the fishermen were running from something tearing up the pier. Then the screen fading to black with the logo followed buy Godzilla's trademark roar.  Then the movie was a massive brain fart. The monster didn't even look like Godzilla. The animated series that was based on it was better than the live action movie.
