Cloverfield was amazing. Possibly one of the scariest movies I have ever seen. Why people don't like it... I'll never understand.

The trailer for White Noise STILL scares the crap out of me. The movie is not scary at all. Not even a little bit creepy. Nothing. Dissapointing.

Star Trek (2009). That trailer was spectacular. The movie however, not so much. Hell, I go as far as to say that movie owes most of its money to that trailer.

Clownican, I have to vehemently dissagree.  Star Trek was in my opinion, the best movie I saw in 2009, and I see a lot of movies.  Why do people have to proclaim a movie is a "suck fest", "the worst ever", etc.  People, it is your opinion, and not gospel.  Apparently, these movies appeal to a lot of people,  just not you.  This is why reviews are mostly a waste of time.  Try going and allowing the movie to entertain you, instead of hoping it will meet your expectations.  I loved all the Star Wars movies, and even enjoyed Jar Jar.  I know, I'm hopeless.  (Liked Daredevil too, LOL)

Underworld met and exceeded all my expectations. It's still one of my favorite movies. I was actually able to sit still in the theater with this one. The prequel and sequel I couldn't sit still for...

The Mania nazis aren't allowing posts with links in them.  Go to youtube, do a search for "Tucky redneck", and watch the video.  Fake movie preview.  Pretty funny stuff.

Totally agree with you as far as Alien 3. That trailer was very good a covering up the fact that the film had a totally horrible plot.

On a related note, I would have to say that the film with the worst possible trailer that was actually one of the best films of all time was: Star Wars.

Look up the teaser trailer on youtube. It's awful. The film could have ONLY suceeded through word of mouth.

I will go out on a limb and say that I liked both Cloverfield, Star Trek and Phantom Menace. Sure they had their flaws and not "masterpieces" but they were still fun.

Jar Jar and the kid were annoying but admit,  I think a lot of us Star Wars diehards (the ones that continued with the franchise watching the Ewok movies, reading the Zhan books and comics, played videogames) were still pretty happy to see Star Wars on the big screen.

The list is pointless and i also would prefer some news; but there is one thing I have always agreed on and it still amazes me to this day and that's the phantom menace trailer. The movie blows but the trailer, even after having seen the movie, still makes the movie look awsome. It's amazing. I used it as a template in my film editing class when we cut trailers, it's just so effective. If I were making movies I would hire the person who cut that trailer to do all of my stuff.

It seems to be a huge trend on Mania these days to have their writers bitch and moan about movies they dislike. I like the list articles but they are kind of pointless when its just one dudes opinion. Most list articles take in account other people's opinions. How about  asking the maniacs what they think and then putting up a list based on the feedback??

Cloverfield was definitely a very good movie. And Underworld didn't disappoint at all, especially just based on the trailer.

There are so many other bad movies that have has great trailers.
