Rated R ALIENS VS. PREDATOR 2 Trailer

Just one day after IGN revealed the first photo of Fox's upcoming ALIENS VS. PREDATOR:REQUIEM sequel, they have released the first trailer online as well. The trailer is a Red Band/ Rated-R trailer.  I realize a lot of our readers cannot view them at times when I give the link  but perhaps by embedding the trailer (as IGN allows) on this article, it will work when you verify your age. The sequel leaves the frozen tundra and has the two monsters doing battle in the midwest US somewhere around Colorado. There have been rumors that this will be a darker feature film, a Rated-R release in contrast to the 2004 PG-13 version. This sequel is getting directed by brothers Colin & Gregor Strause. It stars David Paetkau, John Ortiz, Johnny Lewis, Reiko Aylesworth, Sam Trammell, Shareeka Epps and  Steven Pasquale.

ALIENS VS. PREDATOR:REQUIEM hits theaters everywhere on December 25, 2007.

Well, I have to say that trailer was more entertaining than all of AVP 1...gawd, that movie was awful! There's just no way to enjoy it without getting a lobotomy first.

This movie at least looks to have its heart in the right place--at the end of a Predator's spear! Looks like they're going for more of a teen horror flick vibe, though.

Still, a lot will boil down to whether the script is even remotely coherent. If it's still silly and stupid, no amount of gore will save this so-called movie.

That looks horrible!!! It comes off like a Friday The 13th film from the early 80's, with the addition of some army troops and angry town's people. The only thing missing is Jason and his Hockey mask!!! Add in some acid bleeding Aliens, some Predators and a tough chick pretending to be Ripley and you've got this piece of trash. What a cheapy!!!

But, you know...all of you who went to see, or bought, or rented the original Alien Vs. Predator are responsible for this...as it inspired 20th Century Fox to make another one--killing off the Alien franchise even further!!!

Did anyone else have a "Phantoms" flashback after watching that?

Affleck was the BOMB in "Phantoms", yo!

This looks awesome. All I want from aliens vs predator is...is...hmmm lets think about this...Shakespeare?...nah! Oscar award winning writing and a powerful and compelling story?...nah! OH I KNOW!
ALIENS vs PREDATOR!. fighting, invisible hunters, aliens impregnating humans with spores, blood, people panicking and running scared. so far so good. Of course I liked the first one, yeah I know, I know, I'm realizing I have very broad taste in movies) Lookin forward to this one.

I'm in the minority here I guess. I liked the first one, I just thought it was a little tame for both franchises. But this trailer definitely looks promising. I'll be looking forwarding this this film.

Didn't think the trailer looked all that bad.

But I know this movie will bomb. I know come next Christmas, I will be writing up a Box Office Report here at Mania saying it too.

Why Fox is releasing a Rated-R monster movie on Christmas Day against two PG-13 Family movies (the Loch Ness/Child Story & National Treasure 2) is truly beyond me...

This movie should be bumped to November or Halloween...Not be coming out on a Family Holiday against TWO Family movies..

I can't believe Fox is doing this...
