Personally, I liked the film. I went in expecting crap after hearing so many Hellblazer fans rip it to shreds...

I ended up enjoying the film due to Peter Stormare and Tilda Swinton. I enjoyed both of their performances/characters.

I'm definitely open for a sequel/prequel.

See, that's why I rarely post here (which is a shame, because I love the site)... the posts so often border on the kind of drivel that can be found at AICN.

Wonderful. Too bad these type of 'personal opinion' comments (and that's what they are... nothing more) are rarely backed up with intelligent reasons WHY the movie sucked. I mean ACTUALLY sucked, not why you didn't like it.
Personally, I didn't like 'The Fifth Element'. However it has a massive following, and I can be objective enough to see that the movie DOES have a lot going for it, just not for me PERSONALLY.
So you don't like Keanu Reeves? Neither do I, so we have that in common. But newsflash, mate... whether you liked the movie or not, 'Constantine' as a movie, did not suck. It had some excellent performances, was glorious on the eyes, was very well put together and certainly a bold effort I'd take ANY DAY over the endless stream of remakes we're currently being subjected to.
Was the movie perfect? Absolutely not.
Was there room for improvement? For sure. And given the chance with a sequel, I'm sure those avenues will be explored.
But...

Constantine was a mediocre movie at best. It could've been better if they would've stuck with the source material better and gotten someone that embodied Constantine's character better. They took a rich, textured story and turned it into a crappy supernatural thriller with no substance whatsoever. The holy shotgun, for example, was total garbage.

I'm not going to sit here and list reasons why I didn't like it, honestly I tried to forget it, and honestly who cares why I hated it. The whole point of these threads is to list our opinions, good or bad. Oh and the Comic Shop guy on the Simpsons probably would have liked the movie, but really the fact that you brought up, and you're post was so long, makes you one of those overzealous fanboys also, so suck it douchebag.

I liked Constantine, thought it was entertaining, with a few memorable 'jump' moments.
I think I liked it because I have never followed the comic, and it seemed so much better than the Matrix sequels, so Keanu was bearable.
