Just when I though this couldn't get any worse....It gets worse!

Amen! XZibit! I don't even like rap or basketball or whatever he's involved in besides "Pimp My Ride", but this sounds terrible! And Amanda Peet always looks like a whore to me. Every role she's in she bears her breasts or wants to sleep with a scumbag. She's kinda sexy, but the slutty factor ruins it for me.

Billy Connolly seems fine, though. He's a real actor, unlike the others.

I can't wait to see this. Fox played this just right by waiting several years. Now that the bad taste of the later TV seasons of X-Files is out of our mouthes, audiences will be ready to embrace Mulder and Scully again.

But, who the hell is Xzbit?

Xzibit is one of the multitude of rappers out there who are fooled into thinking he can break into movies, a la Snoop Dogg, Eminem, DMX, LL Cool J, etc. I don't know what's worse here: that Chris Carter actually cast him in the movie, or that his role is an FBI agent. An FBI agent will obviously speak with an articulate vocabulary, which is something that I don't equate with Xzibit.

Does anyone else think it's odd that XF2 is being shot and produced in Vancouver again after the last 4 seasons of the show were done in Los Angeles? I realize it's cheaper to shoot in Canada but I would've thought the film's budget would allow Carter and company to shoot anywhere in the U.S.

rgtchtiger, they are most likely filming in Vancouver to try to recreate the feel of the first 5 seasons, I can't say I blame them. I do share your concerns on Xzibit, this seems way below the dignity of the X Files to cast a rapper.

Not a rap fan, but there are worse actors than Xzibit. He hasn't been awful in the roles I've seen him, besides he's probably a sacrificial lamb (he is black afterall).
*That's a joke referring to how the black actors usually get killed. No need for anyone to take offense and make an issue of it.

Anyway. Surely Amanda Peet, being about five years old, is too young to be an FBI agent. And how the hell are we supposed to take Billy Connolly seriously? Even if he plays it completely deadpan with an American accent, he still has that ludicrous facial hair.

First, I am not a fan of rap music at all. I am an X-Files fan though. I believe that XZibit will do a great job in the film as he has done before in XXX2 and Grid Iron Gang. Some of these rappers are actually great actors. I mean come on it's not like they are constantly putting on a front anyway.

The problem is X-Files is now a distant memory. No one really cares about it anymore as they do for say Star Trek. They should have made a sequel a few years after the first one not 10 years after.
