In this age of novels getting expanded into multiple film adaptations it is not out of the realm of possibilities. However, in the case of The Hunger Games, “Mockingjay” has already been expanded into two movies. What or where could the story go onto next? Jennifer Lawrence really hopes that the story of Katness Everdeen continues. She related these feelings in an interview with E!.

"I kind of hope so," Jennifer Lawrence said when asked about the possibility while promoting Catching Fire (in theaters on Nov. 22) with costar Josh Hutcherson.

Hutcherson added, "That would be kinda cool, wouldn't it?"

Yet, Lawrence and Hutcherson are not the only cast members that feel this way.

“I'd love to see Suzanne Collins write something else that we could expand on," Elizabeth Banks said. "We love these characters. I think people are really fascinated to see where their lives go."

Check out the interviews on E! here. Bare in mind, they are on E!.

Again, this is all speculation by the actors, however aren’t they the ones needed to continue a franchise? Sound off below Maniacs!

Book spoilers:

Seeing as both Mockingjay films will not have any actual Hunger Games in it, I don't see where the series would go.   If the author did write another book then, sure, adapt it.  But I hope they don't continue the movie franchise just to cash in.

...and honestly, Mockingjay was a huge disappointment after the original and Catching Fire. This story is done.

Maybe they can split the last movie into 3 movies? :)

I think they should shoot a trilogy just on chapter one.

There is a lot of material to cover in the thrid book.  A lot of BORING material to cover in the third book.  I didn't really care for the way the series ended, so I wouldn't be too upset if they changed things up a bit for a final film.  Let them try and cash in if they want.  They'll only get my money if it looks good.  :)

This movie sucked but girl power rules and with the sequel set to challenge IM3 and for second best all time opening and maybe even break The Avengers record I can see them stretching this out as long as possible

If they making 3 Hobbit flicks, why not?

Since everyone ends up pretty much f*cked, I'm not sure where they take another sequel. Also the final voice was pretty much  a hot mess. Stretching it into three films would just give us three hot messes.

Well it looks like most of the actors on the movie are getting overpaid again.  Usually they gateway to oscar bait movies now.  Funny how I think that way now.

I don't think the 3rd book sucked, it ended dark for sure but it was pretty cool I thought, I actually liked this book series, the first movie was ok, not great but certainly not terrible.  I'll be there to see the other films in theatres, but mostly because the wife is a huge fan.
