Ummm.....what about Kurt Russell's car in Death Proof?  First time I've seen a car where the survivablity of the driver in the car is used against a passanger in the same car. And the car chase at the end is pretty damn cool.

What about Herbie Rides Again? That VW Beetle really had it out for Alonzo Hawk.

This is a good list, except for Joy Ride. That movie was just stupid.

raa2001: I actually thought of Maximum Overdrive when I clicked on the article. Lo and behold, it was the first one I saw. :P

gutsmgee: The Wraith was not an evil vehicle, hence the reason it is not on this list. Jake was avenging his death, not merely terrorizing and murdering people for the sake of it.

I have to disagree with the last poster saying Joy Ride was stupid.  Maybe he didn't understand the movie?  It kind of explains a lot of whats going on in today's world.  One punk 'kid' decides to screw with the wrong person and that wrong person decides to get even to an extreme level.  In fact if you think about it what this truck driver does is exactly where they got the idea from Jigsaw of the Saw movies from.

Oh man i love that movie DUEL. I just happened to flip the channel to this movie, and i was locked in. Didnt even know it was Spielberg's feature debut.

Duel is still one of my favorites.

And of course, continuing the Jaws analogy, you know that the sound you hear when the shark's body is sinking to the ocean floor is a sampling of the sound of the truck going over the cliff at the end of Duel, right?

Not to sound like a snob, but the truck from Duel definitely had a human driver...

I love The Car!  One of my favorite of the afternoon superstation million dollar movies of my childhood!  And when they blow it up and the freaky face and claws are in the fire!  Awesome creepy shlt!!!!  I love it!  That and Maximum Overdrive should be at the top!  MO was awesome too!  The steamroller over the kid?  That burned a never ending image in my brain!

When I saw The Car, I was 12.  Scared the hell out of me...The theater put a stunt (I guess); when we got out, there was a Lincoln parked...Boy did we run...

Ol' Wiseone, I disagree. The SEXINESS of the Plymouth Fury is what makes it so menacing! Just like a beautiful woman who is a killer.....seems more evil and scary than some ugly broad that kills people.
