My buddy rented The Happening for a movie night. When Mark Wahlberg uttered the first line of the movie "Hey did you hear what's going on with the bees?" I audibly groaned. I didn't expect much with that movie to begin with, but after that line it's fate was sealed.

Yeah i think i agree with most of this list , but i agree with everyone else that Connery shouldnt be on this list at least not for this role, maybe for playing De wynter in the Avengers ok so maybe  it wasnt a mis casting but he was stupid for taking the part , for godsake man they had him dressed as a teddy bear.

 How about Connery playing a Russian submarine commander with a Scottish brogue in The Hunt for Red October?

A great idea for a list article with good choices. I also really like Robin Hood and especially Highlander though. In the case of Connery as 2500 year old Egyptian/Spainard Ramierz I'm sure what the producers were going for was star power over correct casting.

As we have all seen a big name actor actor is often cast in a small role requiring them only a few weeks work among a cast of lesser knowns in order to add some "oomph" to a film. Marlon Brando in Superman immediately comes to mind. You pay them big bucks for the prestige they bring to the film. Highlander was before Connery's career renaissance of The Untouchables but he still was a name that got people's attention.

I do always get a giggle watching the film seeing the premiere Scottish actor playing an Egyptian/Spainard to Lambert's Frenchman playing a Scot ,but it's a fantasy movie and its a movie I like so what the hey.

I did think that someone like Daniel Day-Lewis would have been a better choice for the role but I don't think he was a big star at the time.

I guess I'll be the one that Defends Deenise Richards,

First off It's a Bond Movie so the Nuclear Physicist was going to be a Hot Chick, and second if the movie acnolaged her age and explained that she was a Doogie Howser like podigey how many of you would have ecept the casting?

Mark Wahlberg would have worked had they made the character a working class guy caught up in the madness. Of course, the film itself was a mess. Maybe if they'd have let Marky Mark do a dance or punch someone....

I 2nd the nod for Wil Smith as James West and I agree Connery shouldn't be on here.

Dennis Quade as a medeval knight in Dragonheart. His accent was even worse than Costner's in Robin Hood.
