Warner Bros have released a gallery of new images previewing the next DC Universe Animated Original Movie, 'Superman/Batman: Public Enemies'.

A co-production of Warner Premiere, DC Comics and Warner Bros. Animation, the full-length animated film will be distributed by Warner Home Video on September 29, 2009.

In the film, United States President Lex Luthor uses the oncoming trajectory of a Kryptonite asteroid to frame Superman and declare a $1 billion bounty on the heads of the Man of Steel and his “partner in crime,” Batman. Heroes and villains alike launch a relentless pursuit of Superman and Batman, who must unite – and recruit help – to stave off the action-packed onslaught, stop the asteroid, and uncover Luthor’s devious plot to take command of far more than North America.

'Superman/Batman: Public Enemies' is based on the popular Jeph Loeb/Ed McGuinness comic series/graphic novel. Animation legend Bruce Timm ('Superman Doomsday', 'Green Lantern') is executive producer. Michael Goguen ('Justice League: The New Frontier') is supervising producer. Sam Liu ('The Batman') is directing a script written by Stan Berkowitz ('Justice League: The New Frontier').

Unlike his super hero colleagues under the direction of U.S. President Lex Luthor, Major Force opts for aggression over diplomacy in trying to capture the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight in SUPERMAN/BATMAN: PUBLIC ENEMIES

Cold-centric villains (from left) Mr. Freeze, Icicle and Captain Cold are just three of the rogues gallery hoping to score the $1 billion bounty with the capture of the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight in SUPERMAN/BATMAN: PUBLIC ENEMIES

Lady Shiva gets the upper hand with a blindside attack on Batman in SUPERMAN/BATMAN: PUBLIC ENEMIES

From out of the shadows emerge two ominous figures -- super villains Mongul and Solomon Grundy -- to add another dimension to the epic battles in SUPERMAN/BATMAN: PUBLIC ENEMIES

Movie's gonna be badass!

Andrea Romano convinced the Honchos to let her hire the voice-actors who most recently made the charaters legendary: Kevin Conway as Batman, Tim Daly as Superman, and Clancy Brown as Lex Luthor. Then there's a HUGE supporting cast....

.....looks just fan-damn-tastic to me!

The real dynamic-duo, can't wait!

I hope that list includes Michael Ansara as Mr. Freeze...

Question: Why would Mongul care?

mbeckham1 9/5/2009 6:55:55 AM

Good Question.  Maybe he figures since Superman is getting beaten down left and right by all the heroes and villains on Earth this would be his best opportunity to take him out and up his Galactic Street Cred.

Here's the confirmed cast/character list so far....

And, because I'm an adult and can admit when I'm an idiot, it's Kevin CONROY as Batman

(BTW, Mania, why can't I copy/paste text into here any more? I was going to post the list so folks didn't have to link through, but I'm not typing the whole damn thing out)

This is going to be totally badass, it already LOOKS 100% better then Superman:Doomsday did, what was with those cheek bones? Can't wait to pick this one up at Target.

I just looked at the cast, impressive...most impressive.

I love that they got CCH Pounder back as Amanda Waller and I guess it's cool that they got Corey Burton back as Brainiac but with Joker and, to a much lesser extent, Trickster absent, how could they possibly not have Mark Hamil as Grundy? "Grundy like Birdnose."  This looks great!
