Well, as any fan of Twin Peaks knows, Agent Cooper had a doppelganger. The question is, which of us is the evil one? MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Wallyrus-That strikes me as sort of an odd comment, as the novel 2001 was written in tandem with the screenplay. Arthur C. Clarke worked very closely with Kubrick to create the story for the novel and the film at the same time. I've really always been of the belief that they intended people to experience both in order to fully comprehend the story.

Coop, beat me to the punch. I was just going to chime in about the book and movie being made at the same time. Oh well.

Well, obviously 2001 shouldn't be remade.  Since, you know, we're in 2010 already.  I suppose you could retitle it 3001, but that would just be silly.

"At least he died before he made something else"

Im completely shocked and disapointed anyone would ever say that. Kubrick was a true genius and had perfected his craft. We will never see the likes of another filmaker as creative and inovative as Kubrick was. I for one am saddened he didn't live a longer life and give us more of his masterpieces. RIP Stanley Kubrick.

Can't believe so many people hate Kubrick films. Most are awesome, fantastically filmed, and genuine greats of moviedom...

so sad that so many of you can't see that.

Remote control generation...
