If anyone gets offended by Gervais this year, all I have to say is grow a backbone and stop being a wimp.
Agree, Sanctum. Clooney is pimp....other than that, the movie field this year kind of sucks bawz. I know Moneyball was good, but really?
And WHERE THE EFF IS BREAKING BAD FOR BEST DRAMA? I admit, it probably still would have lost to game of Thrones, but how the hell do you leave it out? Am I really supposed to believe Homeland AND American Horror Story are better than Breaking Bad was this season??????
Robbery, highway style
Oh, and I know this goes against twp philosophy, er, that is thinking with penis, but I've watched maybe 4 episodes of the New Girl.
Never laughed once. I think Zooey has finally hit her apex. Still hot, but apex nonetheless
OK, I just scanned through this. But New Girl gets a nomination for best comedy, yet Big Bang Theory is nowhere to be found??? I like New Girl, but c'mon, man!
A lot of the movies/TV shows I like aren't even listed. This is one reason I hate award shows.
I'm with you TMG, how dare they omit Heisenberg.
Game of Thrones FTW in every category
If War Horse is anywhere as good as the play it should win, amazing play. It's Spielberg of course it's going to be great.
I'm surprised Tree of Life wasn't nominated anywhere
Oh wait, at least Cranston got a nom. for Breaking Bad.
I'm also surprised The Walking Dead isn't mentioned anmywhere.
No Big Bang Theory??? I am glad Johnny Galecki was nominated but no Jim parsons???
Wow! What a sad year (overall) for TV and Film. Of the Best Picture Noms, I've seen Braidsmaids and The Help and I really don't think those were all that great. Decent films, but nothing to write home about. As for the other BP Noms, I might see The Descendants, but I really have little to no interest inthe others. Sorry Stevie, Warhorse looks like a snoozer.
Too bad for Spielberg and Jackson, I know they were hoping that TinTin would transcend the animated barrier and break out into the best feature category. I guess they still have a chance with the Oscars anyway.
I know Game of Thrones will likely own all the TV stuff (well the 2 categories it's nom'd in anyway), but where the hell is Dexter?
Globes appear to be shaping up as one big bore of a show this year. Hopefully, Ricky can do some CPR on it and save the show from being a total loss.
I would put odds on Too Big to Fail winning at least one to two awards that the movie probably shouldn't win. It is advancing an agenda and showing Hollywood's support for the poor OWS movement. I also think that at least one of the characters from Shameless should have got a nomination, the movie nominations are pretty bland. I think Super 8 should have been nominated. I won't watch, I never do anymore, mainly because it's an excuse for Hollywood to pat themselves on the back and to inform us of what we should be watching but aren't. I think they've been right once and that was with Arrested Development, which I am still in favor of Fox bringing back., although T.V. has been inundated with these mockumentary type sitcoms i.e. Modern Family, P&R, the Office..etc..etc... Cinema Verite was an excellent movie, especially if you hate "reality" television as much as I do.
Big year for Clooney.
