At 2:46 PM JST on Friday, an 8.9 magnitude earthquake struck the country which generated at least a 13 foot tsunami in the area which is now rolling out to more of the pacific basin. The offshore quake was followed by at least 19 aftershocks according to the latest report and  most of them of were more than magnitude 6.0. According to the AP, dozens of cities and villages along a 1,300-mile stretch of coastline were shaken by violent tremors that reached as far away as Tokyo, hundreds of miles (kilometers) from the epicenter.

My heart goes out to everyone in Japan. I feel sick just thinking about the devastation and lives lost over there. ;_;

EagleManiac 3/11/2011 8:17:54 AM

Metroid, I second that! I hope Japan can recover quickly, and there is minimal loss of life with this tragedy!

Calibur454 3/11/2011 8:31:10 AM

I agree with ya metroid- Lord only knows the kind of impact this will have on Japan as a whole. Not just the anime and manga industry- but world wide.

I'm sure all will agree that japan has a huge affect in the lives of not just otakus in america but gamers computer programers and technology departments all over the world.

Here is wishing Japan all the best and hopes it can recover from this tragedy Thoughts and prayers go out to those families who have lost loved ones from this tragic event

Hectotane 3/11/2011 8:49:20 AM

My hope is that everyone over there remains safe and okay as well.

(Flips the coin...)

Perhaps NOW; the people behind the lot of the CRAP animu (loser shounen and all) can finally stop and realize that nobody's far from kicking distance.

METR0lD 3/11/2011 9:02:24 AM

WTF Hectotane... Apparently the phrase "appropriate time and place" doesn't exist in your little fantasy world. I'd tell you what I really think of you right now, but yeah, this is neither the appropriate time or place.

Hectotane 3/11/2011 9:11:51 AM

Yes, Metr0id; but welcome to our world.

violator14 3/11/2011 9:25:53 AM

Hectotane-Ive never seen u on here before, but you really need to go man. Ur a loser bud.

EagleManiac 3/11/2011 10:26:41 AM

Violator14 and Metroid, I agree. This Hectotane character needs to act like a tree and leave!!

doublec 3/11/2011 11:54:09 AM

Ignore the troll.

As others have said, good luck and good wishes to everyone affected by this incredible disaster.

McQuestion 3/11/2011 1:16:02 PM

Such a horrible thing. I hope they recover ASAP.
