I second everyone's well-wishes! What a horrible circumstance!

I would like to add my condolences and well wishes to the people of Japan and hope that they can recover from this great tragedy as soon as possible.  I doubt that this Hectotane character would have adopted this very insensitive and selfish attitude if he were among those who has been affected by this tradegy!

the footage is some of the scariest stuff I've ever seen... We need to thank our lucky stars... things like this happen so fast... Best wishes to Japan and it's people.

Yo, I think there is a Maniac that lives in Japan.  I believe one Okonamayi ( or something like that, I just call him Oko, he has a Wario picture) is doing his thing over there in Japan but I'm not 100%.

Oko, if you are over there, stay strong brother and God bless.

I know what the late George Carlin would say about this...

"I look at it this way... For centuries now, man has done everything he can to destroy, defile, and interfere with nature: clear-cutting forests, strip-mining mountains, poisoning the atmosphere, over-fishing the oceans, polluting the rivers and lakes, destroying wetlands and aquifers... so when nature strikes back, and smacks him on the head and kicks him in the nuts, I enjoy that. I have absolutely no sympathy for human beings whatsoever. None. And no matter what kind of problem humans are facing, whether it's natural or man-made, I always hope it gets worse."

Ok...before I start to get some hateful responses, I however, have some sympathy concerning what's happening in Japan...I just can't help but find some sort of entertainment out of all this...really...I am being honest and truthful folks. Part of me thinks that this is just great TV and I can't get enough of it. The networks play it nonstop...and I am sure they hope you don't change the channel too. I just can't help but think that...better them, than me. So...beat me up for being honest with myself and you folks.

Johnnyathm1... No hate dude... but I really wonder how entertaining you would find it pinned between two cars waiting for the wave to hit.  Or rushing home in a panic, wondering if your kids are still there.  Your not being honest and truthful... your being short sighted and ignorant, there's some honest truth for you.  Maybe someday it will be you on the six O'clock news in the middle of a tragedy and some moron somewhere will sit there and say better him than me... and there won't be much that you can do about that, but don't worry... you won't care.  You'll be too busy shitting yourself.  Once again... not intended in hate, I like you just like to point out the obvious.

Johnnyathm1 3/12/2011 3:26:55 AM

I understand why you think that way, mm999, that I am being short sighted and ignorant...I really do. Be that as it may, I draw entertainment from anything that takes my attention away from the fact that I have to deal with incoming on a daily basis. Twisted? Sure...maybe...but honest. Have I experienced the six O'clock news? Yes, on a daily basis, yet I don’t see it on the news anymore, probably because it just isn’t news worthy after 7 years of it being on the TV. Have I shit myself before? Yep, more times than I care to remember. I am going home in about a month, to an empty house, cause the wife just couldn't take another deployment and waited till I left to do her thing. So...I am, perhaps, a bit rough around the edges when it comes to what I find entertaining. I am however, wishing the best for the poor souls that didn’t have any say in their own demise...and I do feel for their families and loved ones. Maybe I should have made that a little clearer...my bad.

To sum up...
Was it in bad taste, writing what I wrote? Sure, to some.
Do I have a twisted sense of humor and entertainment? Without a doubt.
Does that make me a bad person? No, at least I don’t think so. That’s all that really matters when it come to the end of the day, madmanic999...that I can look at myself in the mirror, turn off the light, and go to sleep.

I hope we can still interact in these articles, I do enjoy this site, and you are a valid commenter here...you just learned something about me that you may have found...distasteful. Such is life, a series of events and connections that defines who we are as a person. Take it easy.

I just saw on the news this morning that a potential nuclear disaster is involved in Japan thanks to the earthquake. I for one will donate what i can even if it is a little to the red cross. I sure as hell hope nothing else bad will happen, THey Have suffered enough.

maybe now some of the idiots out there who think this is entertaining will rethink what they want to say and this also goes to the ones who want to kick them while they are down. I doubt the idiots would feel the same way if this was happening to them or to america for that matter

violator14 3/12/2011 9:51:08 AM

Johnnyathm1- U know what else is entertaining?? Soldiers taking incoming and getting their asses blown to hell. ANd especially when their wives leave them for deploying all the time, and sleeping with some fool next door. Now THAT'S entertainment right there. Is it twisted ? yes. but who cares right, as long as it takes my attention away from watching porn or something. Oh YAAA!! I love searching youtube and watching soldiers die, it makes me laugh hysterically and i foam at the mouth!!!

karas1 3/12/2011 11:48:58 AM

There is nothing entertaining about over 1000 dead human beings so far and another 700 missing.

It's scary.  It could happen here.  The Pacific Northwest has all the same geologic conditions that Japan does and similar earthquakes have happened there in the past.  Get ready to rock and roll.

All in all, considering what effect this tragedy will have on movies and comic books seems a little shallow.
