Everyone look at me! I am Leaving!
(Fri 05/30/2008 09:26am)
Boo hoo! I am leaving Mania so I can get treatment for my insanity. Seriously, I just read a blog that really quite irritated me. A fellow Maniac posted a blog that states he or she was leaving Mania and is never to return! Oh my! What are we to do?

Look, I am not trying to be a complete banger, and trust me, I understand blogs. however, how self involved do you have to be to Blog you are leaving? Yes, Blogs are about people's lives and what they bloody do or accomplish, but that does not give the bloke the right to act as if his leaving would somehow alter our daily lives! Sorry if I sound like a total douche, it was just irritating reading such rubbish. Why don't they do this on a more personable level? Email? Or perhaps contact them individually? It seems like such an abrupt and pissy way to do that! To me this is absolutely batty.

Mania?
(Mon 12/24/2007 11:30am)

Well, I did a bit of research on Mania and found that it used to be a magazine ctitle 'Cinescape'. Well, this had me thinking. When Mania acquired Cinescape, why was the name changed?

Do not get me wrong, I like the name mania, I would like to know why it was changed so drastically? Is there a magazine titled Mania? If so where can I obtain it?

Has anyone here been with Mania since they changed from cinescape? If so, was it any different from what it is now? Or is it a simple name change?

THEMOVIELORD!!!!!!!!!!!

Why on earth do you not allow people to make comments on your Movie reviews? Why review them then and give your thoughts, if you do not want other giving their thoughts on what you wrote?

I do not know why, but I find this irritating. That is like a chef making food and then not letting anyone else eat, but only look at it. Maybe that analogy is off (I am a bit tipsy) and in no way am I saying you are a great columist, but still. Let us respond to what you wrote!

Then again, the option is there for you not to let others respond to you. Bloody hell, I am more confused than Tom Cruise being on the Rosie O'Donnell show!

Hollywood?
(Wed 10/24/2007 04:29pm)

To be quite honest, I have really been disappointed by Hollywood lately. Not that they have to make me happy or listen to what I have to say, but I am an avid movie fan. No, I do not have to fork over 7.50 for a flick, but isn't that the purpose?

Anyone else fell Hollywood has lost their touch? What movie have you been grossly disappointed in? For me it is Transformers and Evan Almighty.

Star Trek Prequel to cost 150 MILLION+
(Fri 10/12/2007 05:34pm)
Moviehole has received reliable word from inside the cream buildings on Melrose that “Star Trek” is going to have a bigger budget than any of the previous films in the series. I’m thinking Roddenberry’s estate must have been auctioned off to pay for this puppy.

According to our contact, the film initially had a budget of $130 million but now J.J has been handed a few extra biccies – he’ll shoot the thing with a fat allocation in the environs of $150-160 million!

It’s a huge story they’re doing - and boy does it sound orgasmic, even for a Non-Trekkie like me – so not surprised that it’s going to cost so much, just surprised they got it! It’s not only the most expensive “Trek” ever it’s a “major gamble” for Paramount, says our insider. Sounds like someone’s got some high-up pals at Paramount. Nice!
