I'm a fan of film, just like the rest of you fellow Maniacs. I'm also a student of film, though I've never been to film school. I think my favorite kinds of movies are the stuff I grew up watching. The movies of directors like Spielberg, George Lucas, Robert Zemeckis, Tim Burton, Mel Brooks, and a few others. Each year, people say movies get worse and worse, but I don't know about that. There will always be blockbusters, indie gems, and awful B and C movies coming out. Some of the blockbusters are good, while the indie gems are equally as good, leaving the B and C movies what they are, which are pretty much large steaming piles of crap.
I try not to make bad comments on movies, unless they absolutely deserve them. Because I love movies, and we still need that escapism in our lives. Because without movies, there would be a lot more reality television, and that's when suicide will become a pretty good idea.
