Oh, I hate this Da Vinci Code-type crap... OK, if the Catholic Church actually did want to put secret codes in paintings, that's fine, but I would like to point out that all that has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with salvation through Jesus. You don't need a secret decoder ring to go to Heaven. End of rant.

Oh my gosh Maniac23..."In the Name of the King"...I went to see that a couple of weeks ago and managed to block it out of my memory until today. What an incredibly lousy, hack movie. Uwe Boll strikes again. You know when you are even noticing how terrible and distracting the scene cuts are that something is wrong.

Well said, everyone. Excellent comments on the state of the industry. Sad as it may be, though, I still enjoy collecting comics and will continue to do so...I just refuse to get sucked into a giant stunt crossover that will cost me money I don't have. I tried to get back into X-Men with the Messiah Complex crossover, but I've simply missed too much history to understand what's going on and who all the characters are. I'd have to invest far too much time and money to catch up now, and as mentioned by others, I have no desire to buy five titles a month to get all parts of the story. That's just out of my budget. For that reason, I've also dropped Amazing Spider-Man. I was definitely curious about what the post-OMD silliness will look like...a "deal with the devil"??? Puh-leez...nice use of deus ex machina there... On another topic, I disagree with the poor assessment of the Superman titles. With the exception of the Gary Frank art, which I am really despising (that whole bug-eye thing is creeping me out), I've quite enjoyed the post-Richard Donner stories, especially the current Legion one. Now if only we could get rid of Chris Kent and retcon the "Third Kryptonian," life would be much better. The recent scene of Supes firing a baseball to the moon for a fund-raiser / electrical power generation was classic. P.S. Kurt, please keep up the insightful columns...you are a weekly must-read for me!
