10 Memorable Film Deaths by Non-Memorable Characters - Jul 31, 2008 - 01:46pm
I know we are rolling in the way back machine for most of these scenes, but I gotta say one that is new and destined for the top of the list is the "magic trick" death in Dark Knight!
Also I agree with jknizzle, Emil was not forgettable. He was in the movie the whole time. By the definition of the article, these were deaths of characters who "entered a scene just to die.." Try again on that one.
TV Wasteland: High Hopes on the Fringe - Jul 21, 2008 - 12:59pm
STARGATE ATLANTIS (SCIFI, 10PM EST) BROKEN TIES
Ronon is captured by his former friend Tyre (played by Iron Chef American 'Chairman' and all around butt-kicker Mark Dacascos) and is turned over to the Wraith. As the team scrambles for leads, Ronon undergoes a torturous ordeal.
Sci-Fi Announces New Genre Slate - Jul 21, 2008 - 12:48pm
Quick thoughts from a long time sci-fi channel fan...
BRYAN SINGER MINISERIES PROJECT
Hard to comment with no plot, but with Richard Matheson writing - it will be worth the tune-in.
WHAT IF?
Sounds like they are trying to capitalize on the style that made Cloverfield unique, but will ultimately having me yelling "please will someone hold the camera still!" after twenty minutes. Oh, and (1-hour pilot) means it wasn't good enough to be a series, but they are going to show us the crappy open ended pilot anyways.
SOUL EVIDENCE
Could be cool, could be a drag. Depends on the "cast" and their charisma - see Ghost Hunters International for proof of ruining a decent idea (original ghost hunters ok, international cast TERRIBLE!)with the wrong people.
DANGER GAME
Fantasy Island meets Total Recall - worth watching one episode to check it out.
RELIC QUEST & ESCAPE, ETC....
Seriously, I know making sci-fi dramas isn't cheap, but are crappy reality shows really the answer? (I'm talking to you Scare Tactics crappy version 3) It is a shame that eternally vapid network TV is putting more into genre shows right now than sci-fi is!! With the Stargates and BSG ending - the future looks like a sad slump for SciFi channel.
And really, professional wrestling may be fiction, but it isn't scifi by any definition.
