No down time

Guillermo Del Toro, during his Pacific Rim press junket, gave IGN an update on his Dark Universe project. Check out that interview below. He does state what he loves about The Avengers movie here too.

From our Tuesday Terrors piece on the film by Tim Janson: “Guillermo del Toro is working on a film for DC Comic that will star a number of the company's supernatural characters. Similar in lineup to the current "Justice League Dark" series, the film version is being developed with the title Dark Universe.  The Pacific Rim director goes on to hint that the lineup for the project includes Swamp Thing, The Demon, John Constantine, Deadman, The Spectre and the father/daughter pair of Zatara and Zatanna”.

I thought it was Benicio talking about Thor.

If he makes this I'd surely see it but it isn't at the top of my list of things I want from DC. Like with Marvel, the magical aspects aren't exactly my favorites.

I think this could be a cool way of DC getting something else going that probably has a lot of upside in that the expectations won't be anything like JLA's or World's Finest

I think this would be really cool and he is the man for it... I still want an end to Hellboy series though at least one more movie.

I wonder how this factors in with his other projects like Crimson Peak?

It would be cool if they could figure out some sort of crossover deal and make Hellboy part of the team.

GDT. Has such a diferent style of film making and has great imagination no doubt. If he does make this it will be so awseome and way cool. I hope he does.

Will Keanu Reeves be returning as John Constantine?

TheFuzzyDan 7/17/2013 12:09:14 PM

@CapAmerica04 - I was wondering the same thing.  I'd like to see a more faithful rendition of the character but I also like there to be continuity between the films.

I just want to see Swamp Thing done right on film with a high budget.

Daybreak0100 7/17/2013 1:09:08 PM

Keanu Reeves will probably be replaced, though I wouldn't want him to

SarcasticCaveman 7/17/2013 1:09:58 PM

I must be honest, the Wes Craven "Swamp Thing" from the 80's is a guilty pleasure of mine, but I would definitely like to see this movie.

Del Toro talks a lot of shit, and gets about 10% done of what he says.

redvector 7/18/2013 6:00:06 AM

Hanso nails it. If Del Toro's mouth were a checkbook he'd be in jail for check kiteing.
