Gotham has released four “Preview Specials” that give us an in depth look at the upcoming series. To hear about their inspiration and sources, for the prequel to Batman, gives this fan of the character hope. Check out “Mythic Beginnings”, “A City On The Edge”, “Behind The Shadows”, and "Heroes and Villains" below!

Synopsis: Everyone knows the name Commissioner Gordon. He is one of the crime world's greatest foes, a man whose reputation is synonymous with law and order. But what is known of Gordon's story and his rise from rookie detective to Police Commissioner? What did it take to navigate the multiple layers of corruption that secretly ruled Gotham City, the spawning ground of the world's most iconic villains? And what circumstances created them – the larger-than-life personas who would become Catwoman, The Penguin, The Riddler, Two-Face and The Joker?

Gotham on Monday, Sept. 22 on FOX.

I was going to ask why Bulloch was older than Gordon, but then I would answer my own question with...

That's how Elsworlds stories work!

Donal Logue as Bullock is pretty good casting.  Production qulaity looks pretty good too.  Still can't bring myself to care.

The Walt Disney Company owns Marvel. The TV Series Marvel Agents of Shield was placed on one of Disney's TV channels (ABC-TV).  Disney made it pretty clear that no matter what ratings MAoS got during the first season that they had no intention of canceling the show.

Time Warner Inc. owns DC.  Time Warner also owns the CW Television Network and Turner Broadcasting System (TNT and TBS).  One might think that Gotham a show based on DC comic book mythology would end up on one of Time Warner's networks.  Instead it is on Fox.

Gotham will face ridiculous competition in its Monday night time slot. Butting heads with The Big Bang Theory, Dancing with the Stars, The Voice, Monday Night Football and WWE Monday Night Raw.  There's no reason for Fox to guarantee the survival of Gotham, as there is no tie in between this TV series and Fox's theatrical movie releases.

Still deciding to wait in line for preview panel on this today in Chicago.

@blanlczech: good analysis man, it really makes you wonder how this show got a green light to begin with.  I'm sure Bruno Heller's involvement had a lot to do with it.

A show about a Batman-less Gotham is a hard sell already but then putting it in a suicide time slot, is just asking for failure.

I watched this today at Chicago comic con. I enjoyed it. I won't call it must see TV but I'll watch the next few episodes. The actor playing Riddler said it will be part serial part procdural like, so basically a story of the week cop show with overall story arcs. It does have Bruce Wayne, and it looks like they are portraying Alfred a little differently.

What are the odds that The Joker will replace Joe CHill as the Wayne's killer yet again?

BunyonSnipe, I hope not.  Not a fan of convenient character connections, seems too trite.  Enjoy when characters have their own backstory independant of other characters.  That being said would love too see one of Joker's spoken backstories explored (nobody knows his real past cause he changes it with the listener).  The one where he is a broken husband in dept and forced to work for the Mob.  That one would be cool to watch.
