Bale, Batman, and $50 Million? (Article) - 8/16/2013 8:52:31 AM

I have been saying this for weeks!!! thank you WB for listening! Is there a comic book movie fan or genre movie fan among us that doesn't want to see the showdown in the summer of 2015 between Star Wars EP7, Avengers, and now Batman/Superman? Without Bale in this movie, it is a joke. Especially with the list of actors I am hearing. With Bale, all bets are off and they could actually topple either movie. Howabout a summer that sees 3 movies hit the $500-600M mark??? Cmon Maniacs!! you know you want it whether you like Bale at Bats or not! It could be epic!!

The Walking Dead: Killer Within Review (Article) - 11/5/2012 7:05:58 AM

Great episode maniacs....certainly one of the top 5 if not the top ever for this show. I too am spent emotionally after this one. Am I the only one who wanted the group to take in the nice ex-convicts? Looks like they may have earned their keep during the crisis.

I have never read the comics, as I enjoy the discovery each and every week of a new episode, but that Governor sure is an ambiguous character. He really does have a God-complex of some sort IMO. Sitting atop the mountain of what the world has become. Then again, I suppose history is littered with these types of men...just so happens this guy reigns supreme in a post-apocolyptic zombie-infested world and not some new undiscovered land of milk and honey.

Onto Lori....great gripping scene, and one that made me sick as they fished little baby Grimes out of its mother, but i am glad she's gone. With the mind-games she played with both Rick and Shane, I'd say she had it coming. Not quite sure that sacrificing yourself to allow a baby to be born into 1) an F'd up world, and 2) having to navigate thru said world without one's mother makes much sense, but hey, in the end, it was par for her course. She won't be missed...I'm thinking Rick will realize that in time. As for Carl? Ohhhhh what a dark soul he is poised to become. Did you see his expression walking out? Anyone familiar with Michael Myers? LOL

T-Dog...went out the right way. I for one, thought he would last the duration of the show's run. Oh well.

PS Did anyone else notice that poor Carol is still trapped in the prison trying to navigate out? Hopefully they will come to their senses and look for her. Females are running low on the show in a BIG way!

Discuss folks!!

Summer of '82: Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (Article) - 6/4/2012 7:42:45 AM

Kirk: "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times....message, Spock?"

Spock: "None that i am aware of except, Happy Birthday...surely the best of times..."

The dialogue is top notch, the story is engaging, the characters were developed to a new level, the movie has very few, if any a time when we were treated to sci-fi classics like The Empire Strikes Back, Aliens, and Blade Runner, this movie truly stands out and, outside of Trekkies, is a VERY underrated movie. Saw it when i was 9 and quoted Khan the entire summer, trying to convince people of my "superior intellect". LOL...i have a 10 year old that doesnt even know what those words mean!!!

Heres hoping JJ does another fantastic job on the reboot sequel so we can continue our love affair with Kirk and crew...

First 3 Mins of Walking Dead Midseason Premiere (Article) - 1/30/2012 11:50:26 AM

Seconded, ddiaz28. That mid-season finale was the best episode of a television show I have seen since Lost's "Walkabout". Very emotional, very well written...Walking Dead has been a god send to TV. It is one of the few dramatic shows I care to even watch anymore. I haven't read the comics and dont intend to...just gonna enjoy the ride.

Star Trek Sequel Begins Production (Article) - 1/23/2012 9:23:15 AM

First time poster guys (& gals)...have been waiting on any new Star Trek news as I feel JJ dropped the ball and lost out on all the positive (for the most part) vibes that his new incarnation brought by waiting 4 years to give us a worthy follow up...I think its gonna hurt in the long run. But I digress, I had to say how impressed I was to read all of Karas1's posts and her passion for the franchise...I feel bad that she doesnt like the new movie as I was not unhappy about one aspect of the film. I mean lets face it...and this is to all the Star Trek purists out there...what Abrams did had to be done or we would never again see an advnture involving our beloved Kirk, Spock, McCoy, and crew. So to me it was this or nothing, but having said that I came away just so impressed with all Abrams did. Its like all the Indiana Jones and the KOTCS bashers...wasnt it at least awesome to see Harrison don the fedora one more time even if you didnt like the movie? To me it was a drema come true to be transported back to being 8 years old and sitting in the theater watching Raiders for the first time. Its the old analogy of sex and pizza...even if its bad, its still kinda good...Again, I am sorry Kara that you walked away betrayed by it all. I hope the new movie is better for you as i can tell you really do care about the cannon and Rodenberry's original vision...but I had to give a shout out to you as I felt compelled to write this just based on reading all your go girl!! Live oong and prosper! ;)
