Shock-O-Rama: Best Served Cold (Article) - 1/22/2015 5:33:14 AM

Monkeyfoot, Princess Bride is on the list of films that, no matter what point I come into it, if it's on TV, I'm in for the long haul. It's also included in this book (specifically that scene you mention).

Totally agree. It's going to be a solid closed series. Are you still watching Defiance? I feel like it's similarly strong still (though Continuum's a better show).

Shock-O-Rama: Haunter - The Most Original Ghost Story in Years (Article) - 1/15/2015 10:21:34 AM

The best I could come up with? Whoever said that was the focus of Shock-O-Rama?

This is an op-ed column, Jonniej1017, not a review spotlight on every new flick that comes out.

To be a contrarian dick, this is technally isn't a B movie as it wasn't released as a pairing with a higher billed A picture. But that's me being pedantic. Shock-O-Rama often revels in the stereotypcially coined B-Movies. That's pretty much the stock in trade of the column.

Broing? Like popped collars, high fives, and chest bumps?

Couldn't pass that up, sorry. Would you care to elaborate on why you found it boring? Or why you thought it was unoriginal? (obviously spoilers for in his and my follow up comments)

Dungeons & Dragons Dungeon Master's Guide Review (Article) - 1/6/2015 11:18:03 AM

Torval, 5e IS the best parts of 3.5 improvements. It's likely on par with or better than Pathfinder (depending on your penchant for classic D&D mechanics). I totally get being turned off by 4e (I was, and explained why just a second ago; ElBaz seems in the same boat as me), but it doesn't sound like you've read much on, or played, 5e if you lump it into the same category as 4e.

Dungeons & Dragons Dungeon Master's Guide Review (Article) - 1/6/2015 4:12:06 AM

4e was a no-holds barred attempt to adapt the system to a hybrid WoW/Collectible card game system, to cash in on both of their popularity. It was the least D&D like system they've ever put out. My group and I were able to have a good time with it- but that's because as a DM house ruled the shit out of a lot of things.

For me personally, ElBaz, the order would go:

5e is very, very much a directly improved version of 3.5e

Shock-O-Rama: Location, Location, Location (Article) - 11/13/2014 10:53:12 AM

Classic trailers are the best at dropping this kind of insane nonsense, then distracting you with something visually dramatic. lol

I had the exact same throught when I rewatched the trailer last week.
