Doomsday Entering SMALLVILLE, Luthor Departs - May 03, 2008 - 05:59pm
Hey all. I'm new here and just couldn't help but insist that my first post describe my utter distaste for Doomsday in Smallville. Like many within these forums, I have been a long time fan of Smallville. But the ideas that the writers keep coming up with to ensure that Clark stays in Smallville, are just utterly ridiculous. In the comics, it was John Kent's untimely demise that led Clark to seek out his destiny. But if Clark were to leave town, the show would be over. So to keep Clark in town for season six, the writers come up with a rather half baked idea of rogue phantoms escaping from the phantom zone. After that mess was taken care of, I found myself thinking, "what could possibly keep him in Smallville now?" Well come season seven, Kara(ala Supergirl)emerges onto the scene because up until now, she has apparently been embedded in the ground in Smallville for all these years. And Jor-El's first assignment for Clark is to look after Kara who just so happens to be staying in SMALLVILLE(how convenient)! And now for season eight they want to get rid of Lex and Lana and bring in a creature that killed Superman. Seeing as of how Clark has yet to don the cape, and has not reached the pinnacle of his potential yet, the question of "How?" will undoubtedly be the single burning question all throughout season eight.
