DarkJedi's Review

Heroes1.17--"Company Man"

I'm in shock over this show.

I cannot believe how really well done this show is. I seriously cannot fathom how they seem to have everything go smoothly together.

The manner in which they showed us the flashbacks of Bennett's last 15 years was done with a writer's imagination. It's not only that which has me truly impressed though...

It's the manner in which the writers keep control of the characters. It's answers they give to questions while opening unique storylines which will later cross paths.

I'm sorry I said that last week's "Unexpected" was the best show this season for me.

I'm sorry because it turns out this one might very well be.

The heartfelt conversation between Claire and HRG was very well done from a director's standpoint at the end. It touched on the sensitive issues and HRG did not hold back the truth of the situation between his "daughter" there and right upon entering the upstairs bedroom scene with Matt.

He knew that the time had come to say goodbye to his baby girl as he had come to know here the past few years.

The incident/conversation with Claude seemed to had awaken this father role inside him and it did not take him long to grow attached to a level which would guide him to do some pretty amoral things to keep that personal investment(family-love-daughter) intact. He would do anything for her even if it meant doing something which seemed questionable TO her.

The fact that the writers expressed the answers so clearly and yet so very well done lets me know one important detail about my future of watching the show "Heroes".

It tells me to keep going. It tells me I can put trust into not only characters which seemed in the gray like Bennet but it lets me know I can also trust the writers who put the touches of their imaginations for these characters.

These are the feelings I thought while watching this show tonight.

As far as the storyline itself, the lines were most definitely beginning to shape up between alliances last week. This week's show drove a gauntlet down.

We have answers to Claude's past history.

We find out that the Haitian's time has come to an end working for "the company."

We find that when "the company" employees say "They", one of "them" is Hiro's father.

The future of our main characters are very up in the air now.

I will also say this. Judging by the past two weeks, the writers seem to do so very well by focusing on one particular story over everyone else. The first 8 shows had bits and clips of everyone in their seperate sections giving the building blocks of their individual first steps. If the new theme for the writers is to go by the manner in which they wrote the past two weeks...ie, focus more on one particular subject....If that focus has those writers penning scripts and storylines as well as the last two episodes, this show will only continue to keep me totally geeked up.

Well reviewed and I agree. It was moving and amazing and kicked Heroes up to a new level. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, for this show to start really sucking, and while it hasn't been on that long I am impressed with how well it continues to get.
