Pixar's Cars

I watched this a few nights ago and I have to say, it was pretty entertaining to watch from a spectator's perspective.
The storyline of having this small town on the outskirts of Route 66 washed away and forgotten by "progress" translates into alot of modern day truths that correlate with life around us. As the present fades away into the future, alot of our past is forgotten over something silly as "making up ten minutes of drive time" so to speak.
I see it all the time while driving from city to city on the big interstates(always in a hurry) so it's easy to relate to those around who may not have liked that so called constructural progress.
I'm not going to say this is Pixar's best movie...if it was, maybe I would have given it a
A+. Instead, I'll keep
The Incredibles and
Toy Story as my personal favorites.
That said, I have to say a mighty big props and thumbs up to Pixar's continual animation skills in their created worlds. I found myself forgetting that this was a created environment in parts of the movies. If you zone out the cars themselves and just focus on the beautiful backgrounds, it can be real easy to see how one could forget that it's an animation and not a real scene of some desert wasteland. Absolutely beautiful work from Pixar's team on this one.
Also, I believe some people are getting sick of Pixar's story "formula" and themes(musical song somewhere near the halfway point) being nearly exact in nature from film to film but I don't take issue with it knowing the real market of demographic their movies are pointed towards. As long as the adult schtick continues to be included and animation continues to excel in the manner that Pixar seemingly does so well......I will continue to show up for it.
Overall:
7/10 for story and amusement
10/10 for animated beauty.
